UNLIMITED COMBO POWER! Altar Tron goes infinite and overwhelms your opponent in MTG Pauper

Hey i am playing a similar list at a lgs tommorow so i have a question about the sideboard against burn at 10:56. Is it necessary to sideboard the combo out ? I know nothing about the deck but it just feels so wrong.

what you think of impact tremors instead of makeshift ammunition?

It ends up being only a combo card and not able to be used for value. I like the flexibility of munitions

I played against this last night and it was the one deck I actually beat, probably because my opponent didn't have great draws and I managed to get my proliferate/card draw online for poison storm. He did get the infinite myr loop but couldn't get makeshift munitions on the board.

@@kalikaiz Even more hilarious was when I somehow found myself in a poison storm mirror. My opponent kept track of his depletion land/pentad prism/everflowing chalice counters with little glass things that look like the ones you put in aquariums. He tracked each color of his floating mana pool along with the poison counters he'd given me with an actual abacus (just last week people had told me about "abacus guy" and it was nice to finally meet him as the only other poison storm player at pauper night). I wasn't even mad that he popped off before I could. That was impressive. Our sideboards were more or less useless against each other since we had built our sideboards to respond to affinity/burn so it was basically just a race to see who could get the better opening hand and keep drawing into proliferation. I went first twice and still managed to lose (skill issue on my end, I know).

I love this deck. I saw some sideboard lists with duress. Most of all are paper list. What do you think about?

Personally I don't think duress is necessary as it's pretty easy to force through the opponent in general. I'm not sure what I would side in then

Maybe mesmeric fiend could be better in that spot since you can exile stuff forever by sacrificing it to altar and then recur with fountain

I think you probably need to just hard target your worst matchup. That means probably glitters unfortunately. Maybe a wilt or nature's claim

Why don’t you play ancient stirrings? It seems pretty good searching out the whole combo and tron but I’m not a tron player so I might just be uninformed

stirrings does a good job finding parts but it doesn't find stuff like more draw spells or weather the storm or sideboard cards. It also feels very bad to not have turn 3 tron and no way to "upgrade" a land

yeah I just am trying to minimize combo pieces and I found that 3 was totally enough

@@TheAzevse you definitely do NOT want to be on 16 lands that is for sure. I don't think it is necessary to try and rush a combo because this deck is slow. We should focus more on consistency and staying alive
