Pulling stuff like that out of the woods is some hard work! If you've done it, you know how difficult, yet rewarding it can be. You come home sore, tired, and hopefully, but not always with whatever it was you set out to retrieve. Sometimes, you even come home with a respiratory issue, or some nasty cuts and rashes that defy any medical identity. Nobody in their right mind would do it, and yet it's stronger than any drug, and keeps me and my son going back over and over for that next big discovery. Thanks for saving all that old iron, it keeps these cars alive, and saves a piece of American history for the future.

That is such a great and true description of this love of hunting and finding old iron! So fun!

Hi guys. The nippled Lucas lights. In the U.K they were fitted like yours as a pair. The clear one as a spotlight and the other, with it’s widespread beam pattern, as a fog light. As used, one gave a longer than headlight range narrow beam and the other illuminated a short wide fan shape to cover both centre road markings and the nearside kerb in poor visibility.

That was very common in Sweden too. Most cars had one of each type mounted.

Those Lucas lights - I think they were called 'Pathfinder' ( Fog Light ) and 'Projector' ( Driving light ) and there was a bit of a tradition back in the 50's for having one of each on British sports cars . ( Projector has the clear lens )

Great Idea! They'd be ahead if they just gave them away, but with a spraying and maybe tire dressing, they could charge for them. The new tire sizes & designs make crappy swings anyway!

You may or may not be interested but my father was a collision man he died in 1955, after he died my mother rented the shop out to another collision man. He had a hoist very similar to the one you plan to restore. I believe he used it lift the bodies off the frames when he needed to replace the frame.

Love seeing you save old shop equipment as well as cars and parts. I worked in an old shop and they had an old press linke the one you have and I’m sure it when to scrap after I left, I wish I would have grabbed it. The lift you saved brings back memories. A friend who I grew up with had one in a back bay of his father gas station , he still has it but it been outside for years

17:50 - is that the steering axle that was buried with the shop crane? Glad you found it. The reach will be too short for most car work, it's meant to load and unload lathe chucks, press dies and heavy parts in a factory.

Trashcan🗑Approved! Like old car parts that used to be a dime a dozen, back in the day in the 80s I used to hunt for vintage electronics; consumer audio products that ppl were tossing out because it was cheaper to replace than repair. Sold the stash off in a move only to see prices explode a decade later as things suddenly became "collectable".

Nice job unloading all the goodies from your find with the tractor. I see that the hyster fork truck was at least being used as something to prop up some of the finds. Will the hyster ever move or is it a permanent fixture? Just joking around about the forklift. I enjoy watching your finds an amazed at what people end up saving and that others trust you to come and rescue the "juck" to bring it back to be used again. Thank you for your good adventures.

@IronTrapGarage

I’m not that nerdy. Haha. This tractor was the right price and and had a bucket and runs well so it’s just fine for me. Would love a 9n with a bucket but the fergy works well for now!
@Hotrodford
@Hotrodford Жыл бұрын
@@IronTrapGarage an 8n would be a better tractor than the 9n it has a four speed transmission and both brake pedals are on the same side, and if you get a 1950 -1952 model it will have the easy to service ignition distributor that’s located on the side of the engine instead of that cursed crab distributor on the front of of the engine like the older flathead ford v8s. By the way the Ferguson is a fine tractor with that overhead valve engine, they’re hard to beat.
