My guest this week has an incredibly inspiring story. Codie Sanchez started her career as a journalist covering human trafficking, and was confronted with extreme violence and the worst of humanity on a daily basis. Realising that she didn’t want to be someone who, in her own words, had to ‘fight for a living’ she decided to take a hard pivot into finance. Since entering the world of finance, Codie became partner at private equity firm EEC, and built First Trust’s $1 billion+ AUM Latin America business. She’s also the co-founder of ‘Unconventional Acquisitions’ and the founder of ‘Contrarian Thinking’ who have a mission to bring more people into financial freedom. In the conversation we talk about how, just like Codie’s career, human beings don’t have linear paths, we talk about the question of whether you need periods of struggle in order to achieve wealth, happiness and success. As well as advice for women in the workplace and leadership and we finish by covering a handful of truths that will make you more money than any business degree. I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did.

100%. I want to not only stay ahead of the game, but to thrive in the age of artificial intelligence. I am very excited about what the future has to offer. We truly live at a very cool time in history. My attitude is that if we ignore all the BS going on in the world and focus on the good stuff then our lives will improve by leaps and bounds.

Perception is reality. I have been railing against this ridiculous statement since I was in corporate America. Translate to - it's more important how you are perceived than what you actually do. The politics of organizations is what drives me to create my own path. So glad to hear someone else say this statement is ridiculous.

What's amazing about this conversation is when Ali disagrees with Codie on her point that happiness is struggle, Codie refutes Ali by “agreeing with” Ali first before attacking Ali's home base by implying his understanding of “struggle” is wrong (“maybe we need a different definition of struggle”) . This feels like a dexterous move in taichi.

Yeah that just tells me that there’s not really one way to look at things or plan things to be happy and successful. Just figure out what works for someone personally until it doesn’t. To me struggle is different from suffering. You can struggle with something externally but you don’t have to suffer about it.

But at the same time I’ve come to understand that people who don’t have a big vision for their life have more mental room to care about things that people who are focused on their dream just don’t. Codie hit the nail in the head. The regret of death isn’t work too much, the regret is to not having purpose driven work. The number one regret in death is not becoming your full self. Codie is super dope.

@@stevenalicia3418 The Stock/equity market has proven very lucrative to me..5 years ago in 2018 when I started investing in stock&bond my Financial advisor/Portfolio manager Mrs Shannon suggested I bought some stocks she knows will yield valuable profits and she also forecasted that these companies will triple their net-worth in a space of 8 years.I did not regret taking her advice because I've made over 1.9 million in raw profits over the years. I started with 200k back then.

NIO & TSLA to the MOOOOOOOOOON Trading effectively is about assessing probabilities, not certainties. My Investments with Shannon always come out profitable. It amuses me how she handles the complexity of the market and still manages to make profits on my behalf. Amazing work she will soon be at the top
