I have had everbearing strawberries growing for nearly a year in my iHarvest and they are still doing great. Have to cut them back every so often as they can overgrow the cups, but otherwise they have been fairly easy.

Good to hear that yours are doing well. They also produce a lot of runners in my experience, which can be propagate into new plants.

@@plant4table Mine did produce a lot of runners for the first three months or so, but since have converted to almost exclusive fruit production.

Thank you for the video! I just had my iHarvest delivered and am excited to try some of these! I have heard strawberries need a special pH. Do you grow them separately or with other plants in your unit?
@plant4table
@plant4table Жыл бұрын
You cam grow them with other plants in your unit. I grew these strawberries without adjusting the pH. They still do ok. If you want to optimize the result, you can grow only strawberries and adjust the pH according to the plants' need.

I run mine exclusively for strawberries. I planted 25 Albion everbearing plants. The seem to like a low pH ( I keep it around 6) and a lower nutrient concentration. I run an ec of around 1.4. It probably varies by variety so there may be plants suited for what your other plants need.

Have you had a chance to order & test the new uHarvest system by IGWorks, the maker of iHarvest? It's a much smaller, tabletop version of the iHarvest. I'm thinking of dipping my toe into hydroponics with that unit and trying to grow tomatoes during the winter. As an affiliate, have you been given any early access to testing it? If so, I'd like to know your thoughts & impressions.

No, they did not send me the product to review. However, it should work as well as the countertop Aerogarden.

Everything looks good, it looks like you may be following my strawberry posts. Make sure to upgrade the Iharvest filter when do strawberries. Did you purchase a Lettucegrow yet? I just got my first one.

No, I don't have room for Lettucegrow. May be one day. How do you like yours?

@@plant4table I am really impressed with the quality. Way better than any other system I have used or seen.

I want to try to grow different kinds of plants together but got overwhelmed with different requirements for pH and nutrients etc. What are your thoughts on this? I see pictures of people growing tomatoes with lettuce so it must be ok?

Where do you get those net up covers. I have been using the reflective ones and they don’t stay on very well. Can you link ?

This is the one I got. It's called clone collar. amzn.to/3fiBIBz I like it because it can be cut to my need. Funny you mentioned about the reflective cover because I bought it and haven't had a chance to try it yet.

@@plant4table when I first bought the reflective collars, they were all slightly bent! I had to use tape To hold them down. The second batch wasn’t bent but because I use a ceiling fan over my plants, they would blow around if I didn’t hold them down with tape. But even without the fan, plants do move and so do the collars. In fact I just had to completely clean out one of my iharvest units because the collars moved around too much and the algae was enjoying itself. What a mess!!

@@Anastasiaharris1111 oh good to know. The only down side of the collar I'm using is that the middle hole is very tiny. You definitely have to cut a bigger hole in the middle, or cut out a corner. I originally used it just to cover the empty slots.
