Thank you! Im 59 and I started last June at 251 lbs. In November, I hit 197 and spent a month bouncing between 197 and 202. I decided it was time to go to the gym and started walking and weights every day. It's become an obsession at this point, but I still couldn't get past the 197. I was eating 1300 calories a day and I was STARVING. I finally decided to raise my calories to 1700 and worked my macros to hit 150g of protein and I'm losing again.😊. Watching this made me feel validated so thank you for letting me ramble. Lol

Thank you for the tips. I now make yogurt parfait with Fage and the 1UP nutrition Vanilla powder and then add peanut butter powder and a cup of berries. Delicious! Thank you for the introduction to the protein powder. It is the best that I have tasted. I am using the LoseIt app and trying to get 120g of protein each day. I don’t always do it but that’s my goal. I do anchor around protein in my meal which really has been my mindset change since last year.

That sounds delicious! 😋 I’m so glad you’re loving the 1UP Vanilla protein-it really is the best! You’re doing amazing anchoring your meals around protein, and aiming for 120g is a great goal. Even if you don’t hit it every day, the consistency and mindset shift are what matter most. Keep it up-you’re crushing it! 🙌

Jeanine, I just love your videos. I will be 39 this year and take my health very seriously. Listening to this content has helped me boost my confidence as I’m about to enter my 40’s. There’s a lot of fear mongering out there for women my age. “Oh, you’re not gonna be able to keep your figure much longer…” Too many haters out there…🙄 these are the same type of people who tell women they won’t be able to get their bodies back after having kids. And then I did just that and I’m in the best shape of my life! Anyway, you and Mike are great! Thank you! ❤

thank you so much! ❤ I love your mindset-age is just a number when you take care of yourself, and you’re proof of that! There’s way too much fear-mongering out there, but I’m glad you’re shutting it down and thriving. Keep doing your thing and showing what’s possible! 🙌 We appreciate your support so much

I usually get anywhere from 100-150 grams of protein. I haven’t seen the weight loss results yet. I’m 54 and peri menopausal. I’ve gained some of the menopause weights, but I am focusing on lean proteins and watching my macros. Working out 5-6 days a week cardio and strength. I use that hack when grocery shopping and looking for different things to eat. Loved this video and the info! So helpful!
@JeanineEscobar9 күн бұрын
Thank you so much for watching and for your kind words! It sounds like you’re doing a lot of the right things-prioritizing lean protein, focusing on your macros, and keeping consistent with your workouts. Changes in menopause can make the process feel slower due to hormonal shifts, but don’t get discouraged! Sometimes it’s just a matter of fine-tuning-things like dialing in your calorie intake, ensuring recovery, or managing stress and sleep (which play a huge role during this phase). Keep at it, and remember, results might take time, but consistency always pays off.

Fasting is a tool to help you stay in a calorie deficit, but not at the expense of not getting in enough protein.. Track Calories and Get your protein in over anything else

❤❤ love this video! I have started “front loading” my day with protein as it’s easier because with work and life, you at least accomplish something immediately and are setup for success. I’ve also been incorporating 2 days a week of strength training. Such an important message that you need your muscles and yes I’ve been in high stress situations where I needed to lug things around and was fully able to. ❤

What about eating enough protein and weight lifting while taking a GLP1? Does all your muscle mass disappear or is there a way to maintain some or most muscle?
@JeanineEscobar10 күн бұрын
Great question! Eating enough protein and incorporating weight lifting while taking a GLP-1 medication is crucial for maintaining muscle mass. These medications can suppress appetite, which might lead to an unintentional calorie and protein deficit. This is why it’s so important to prioritize getting enough protein in your diet-aim for at least 0.7-1g of protein per pound of your goal body weight-and continue resistance training regularly. While GLP-1s may lead to some loss of muscle along with fat, you can absolutely mitigate this by focusing on strength training and ensuring you're not in too extreme of a calorie deficit.

@JeanineEscobar10 күн бұрын
You're welcome, I am glad you enjoyed it. I am familiar with the Blood Type diet you are referring to. I'm not sold on it though. There have been a few good studies on it and not sufficient evidence to support the claims.. I'm sure you have seen results, and I do feel like there are outliers, but Many of the diet’s recommendations (e.g., eating more whole foods, avoiding processed foods) align with general healthy eating principles. People may feel better simply because they’re eating healthier, not because of their blood type necessarily...But at the end of the day, if it's easy for you to follow and you feel great that's what matters most.

What if you kidneys don’t break down the protein and you’re told to eat only 88% of your total macros per day in protein only then what?
@JeanineEscobar9 күн бұрын
Typically 30-40% of calories from protein is a good % to target..However if you have compromised kidney function you should follow the recommendations of your doctor.

You need all the macros but a protein deficit will not grow muscles.
@JeanineEscobar9 күн бұрын
You're absolutely right that all macros play an important role, and I agree that a protein deficit can make it hard to build muscle. My point was that focusing on hitting protein while keeping an eye on overall calories can be an effective strategy for many people-especially those who are new to macros and might feel overwhelmed tracking everything. Protein often gets under-consumed, so prioritizing it can be a simple way to see progress while naturally getting enough carbs and fats. But of course, balance is key for optimal results
