One of the best things about Simon is he tells you why, and then follows it by "let me give you an example."

I loved the interview! One key takeaway for me was the importance of catching team members doing things right and reinforcing positive behavior. It’s such an effective way to encourage and motivate the team.

@34:20 honestly I've heard Simon explained his way of telling "why" many many times over, but it never clicked, until just now. I guess the only thing stopping me thinking about my true why is "fear". Fear that what I believe will bring me down to almost zero but I have my family to look after. I have faith that one day, a door will open for me.

If someone comes to me complaining that another worker is lazy, annoying, or whatever, I ask, "why do you say that?" Then we have a discussion about why the complaining employee feels that way. Very often it has nothing to do with the other worker; it is that the complaining worker feels stressed, overworked, underappreciated, or something like that and we deal with the real issue.

Leadership is a second natural (instinct) in some people and that is there because they have this one characteristic RESPONSABILITY they understand it, they implement it, they look after those oround them. And the consequential mutations of this is to inspire. That how a natural at leadership happens.

Simon, you are sounding increasingly more aggravated talking about the Infinite Game as time goes on. It sounds to me like you are feeling that people still aren't getting it, although your facial expressions don't support that. Maybe you have lost your passion again. Hope you're ok!

I totally disagree that you should fire the guy that is brilliant but individual, These people are sacred in the place. You leave at least one of these and it’s less bad.

Disagree with Simon regarding the role at least by name of ceo, his assertion that you don't know what a CEO does by the name chief executive officer. Maybe he's thinking of executive as an adjective, but executive function if you think back to what it refers to with respect to the corporal, means the person who coordinates the efforts of the various parts into a highly efficient and effective whole. So in that sense a chief executive officer is the person who coordinates the efforts of the many to benefit the overall single body IE the corporation

I think I agree with him. CVO it should be called, yes. If this is the person at the helm of the organization, this is the person that should operate beyond being just a coordinator of people's performance. The functions you have just stated are operational in nature. This is a person that sees beyond what is presently happening and can prepare people by introducing an enabling environment for people to excel in what they do or will be doing.
