Thank you Pastor Pawson; your wonderful gift continues to speak after you are gone and will always speak - to those who are willing to listen. What you said about intentional and unintentional sin makes me realize anew how hugely blessed I am to have salvation in Christ. I could NOT have kept all those laws in Leviticus and Deuteronomy. I would have been one of those going to offer sin sacrifices all the time and been bankrupt from paying for all those animals! How precious is the blood of Jesus, stronger than that of bulls and goats, and given to me for FREE!! (Romans 3:24) Salvation through Jesus is ETERNAL ( John 10:26-30, Romans 8: 28-30, Phil 1:3-5). Some comments below were worried about the possibility of losing salvation through intentional sin? Probably due to the writings in Hebrews 6:4-6. There are a lot of wise Bible teachers and scholars who have written expositions on this topic and I am not one of them. I am an ordinary person who has also sinned deliberately after salvation and kept sinning because let us be honest - sin has its pleasures. If not, there would be no temptation! However, I have rededicated my life to Jesus and determine to keep away from repetitive sins, ONLY through the help of the Holy Spirit. I would say this to any fellow brother or sister - instead of arguing theology about whether 'once saved, forever saved' or 'if it's possible to lose one's salvation', focus instead on making a serious commitment to Christ and ask for his Holy Spirit to help you to stop repeating those sins that keep entangling you. Stop looking for loopholes to allow you to keep sinning. Why keep taking advantage of the Grace that Jesus has given? Even as human beings, how would you feel about someone who keeps asking you for money and keeps promising to repay you but never does? Never keeps to their word. Why treat a Holy God like this? Let's take our salvation seriously! It is precious!! We could never achieve it on our own. So, therefore, if you have to sacrifice a little and forego some 'pleasures' of the world, do so! It's worth it!

But I found that thorough reading Was a different thing to do, And the way was unfamiliar When I read the Bible through. You who like to play at Bible, Dip and dabble, here and there, Just before you kneel a-weary, Yawning through a hurried prayer; You who treat this crown of writings As you treat no other book - Just a paragraph disjointed, Just a crude impatient look - Try a worthier procedure, Try a broad and steady view; You will kneel in awesome wonder When you read the Bible through

What is the reason for your statement ? Your statement has been made about David’s teachings on Leviticus ? What specifically caused you to say this ? The New Testamwnt is clear and there are a few verses you may wish to consider John 3:17 - for God did not send his Son to condem the world but that through him the world may be saved Please note “may be saved “ , Jesus offers the way to salvation but not everyone ‘will’ be saved “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9 NIV Forgiveness of sin is conditional on confessing “Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Acts 2:38 NIV The key steps to becoming saved are - repent ( turn away from and stop doing), believe ( in the Lord Jesus Christ), be baptised in water (for the forgiveness of sin ) and receive the Holy Spirit “And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.” Matthew 12:31 NIV There is only one unforgivable sin “If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left,” Hebrews 10:26 NIV However there is a warning - repentance imeans to turn away from and to stop - doing something If you carry on deliberately doing sinful acts - there will be no forgiveness “For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,” 1 Corinthians 15:3 NIV

Hi David, You mentioned that if we deliberately sin after being forgiven there is no more sacrifice for sin. Does that mean if i sin intentionally after being forgiven i can no longer repent and ask forgiveness? Most of the sins I commit are intentional, very rarely would i call it accidental and if this means I will no longer be forgiven then our Lord Jesus's sacrifice on the cross was for nothing. I'm not looking for a way to trample the blood of Christ or the grace given to me as an excuse to sin. As a sinner who knowingly sins I'm desperately seeking an answer that is biblical.

Hi Colin.. First let mention 2 things we are grace and not the law, ok, it is impossible not to sin, 2nd. Willfully sin. Also depends what Sin you are talking about.. John MacArthur explained wonderfully about Hebrews and no more sacrifice for sin. Hebrews is written to a Jewish audience. . What he said that verse means u sin, there no other place to go but Jesus alone,,,u cant go back to animal sacrifices. Only Jesus.. That is the context of that verse. But back which Sin, obviously you cannot keep murdering or committing adultery stuff like that,. But like drinking smoking gambling, those kinds of sins, if are resentful yes you are forgiven, but never forget u still have to deal with the consequences of sin,,

Can anyone help me understand Jesus’ birth? When was Jesus actually born?
@DavidPawsonMinistry Жыл бұрын
Hi it’s a good question but let me say we are not told so we cannot say when he was actually born - some estimates state the year 2 or 3 bc but that’s not certain - the AD calendar was not invented until the 6 th century by a mink and so was already a best guess What we do know is that Old Testament prophecy foretold the Messiah would come during the feast of Tabernacles which is end Sept/ early Oct each year - and this applies to the first and second coming of the Messiah but of course the Jews believe there is only one coming and that is to happen - so Jesus was not born in Dec and he was not born in Winter - the shepherds would not be sleeping in the mountains in December as even in Israel it’s too cold Dec 25th is the celebration of the pagan festival and was adopted by Constantine in 4th Century - Constantine and his mother have a lot to answer for in creating many current day traditions ……not necessarily based on biblical truth - Jesus himself often spoke about his death and resurrection, and the sending of the Holy Spirit but did not make reference to the events of his birth which David believes we should not focus on Christmas and if we wish to celebrate his birth then the Christian calendar should celebrate the feast of Tabernacles as his birth …… in answers to your question we actually do not know for certain

I really like Pawson, but based on his theology everyone on earth is going to Hell since there's not a man or woman on earth that hasn't intentionally sinned after salvation. Not a single person. I agree that everyone deserves to go to Hell but Jesus covers all sins not just unintentional sins. Otherwise what's the point of anyone on earth becoming a Christian. Arminianism is a fear based theology that can't keep anyone living a Holy life because they give up because what's the point. Jesus covers all sin.
@Xelenteontae_ Жыл бұрын
No. Jesus covers all sin but If you reject Christ and return the gift in his hand and you walk away, you are not saved. Arminisim isn't fear based, you're looking at it in a legalistic lense. Nobody can snatch you out of Gods hand meaning no exterior forces, but you can choose to freely walk away.

@@DavidPawsonMinistry Thank you for your prompt response. Having been reared as a Christian, I have read and thought much about the question of religious faith, and concluded that the notion of an eternal omniscient God who loves us, is simply not credible, based on a dispassionate examination of the facts. Humans, including myself, desire the reassurance that our existence has meaning, a need which draws us to seek and accept explanations about the universe and our place in it which do not stand up to serious dispassionate scrutiny.
