We are all interested in self-development/self-improvement and this is important no matter what branch of spirituality you are on! In the unconscious mind there are deeply ingrained thought patterns or beliefs that have an impact on your life. In many cases such beliefs can be limiting, in a sense hindering your growth. So we engage in a process of transforming our mindset. The key is a transformation of the entire being, either with the assistance of spirits or without. In Psychology, mindset transformation, self-belief enhancement, cognitive restructuring, personal growth techniques are some important points you may want to look up for more information. I see a dynamic interaction between the human psyche and what we call the human spirit. In my opinion, approaches that focus exclusively on human psychology while neglecting spiritual aspects of the person do not capture the entire picture.
