Jill is the greatest rock/jazz/metal violinist since Jean-Luc Ponty, who basically invented rock violin. Love this group, they should be global superstars.

Amid all the (justified) excitement over the Japanese all-female metal bands, we forget there are still guys who throw down. Shiren, founder and one of the guitarists, also does the growls. Fumiya (Drums) is, as you saw, insane and inexhaustible-one of the best rock drummers in the world. Jinya (G) and Ogawa (B) are top-tier as well. Fumiya and Ogawa also have interesting, “beast” personae which contrast with the “beauty” of Fuki and Jill. Fuki (lead singer) is a legend in Japan, and one of the busiest artists anywhere. She is lead singer for UM, Doll$boxx, Lightbringer and her own ongoing project, Fuki Commune. Her style is very much out of the Japanese classical tradition, with the oversold vibrato and intense high notes. She collaborates with a lot of the top musical talents in Japan. Jill is actually my favorite member of Unlucky Morpheus. Sorry! you haven't seen a lot of Jill (violin) yet, she is on the same level as the guitars, not a nice accessory (which you noticed), in my opinion it is the first metal band where a real violin has been so massively integrated. Metal + Classic has always worked well. Due to her special skills she comes through as a real metal instrument, and has got hold of a place in the center. Jinya (Guitar) really has to go all out every time to stand up to Jill. The two of them push each other, when Shiren (guitar) also plays you can only see a big grin from everyone. I can no longer imagine Unlucky Morpheus without a violin. I like your bewilderment (the band has been on the road for 13 years, Jill has been with them since 2017, we all just missed that, it's that Japanese black hole thing) Great Reaction
