Perfectly said unni.. no denial on the things said about kalolsavam. Just one thing about the dance costume and the mark format for that in competitions. In classical dance forms there are marks for attire and make up which is understood to some extent. But recently the quality of ornaments is what is considered. I am malayalee born and settled outside kerala and there was an incidence I faced. one of the famous dance teacher and artist from kerala trained a student in my city for a famous competition in the city. The student trained by another experienced teacher from the same city won against the student trained by this artist which they could not digest. Considering the artist' reputation and they being a guest in the city, the teacher whose student won out of courtesy spoke to this artist. With utmost arogance he made fun of the costume of the student who won to the teacher stating it as cheap quality and poor makeup and they should have cut marks for that. His student wore top quality temple jwelleries and was brought on his insisitance by the parents was proudly stated by the GREAT TEACHER. He also said he doesn't allow any of his students to perform on stage if they do not buy what he asks. So in short the talent of the participant, the performance or the stage presence is not enough but expensive outfit , lakhs worth jewelleries and branded makeup is what should be the deciding factor of a winner? And moreover for each performance the student should buy new set of costume. Seriously dont understand where is KALA in this and what KALOLSAVAM means for such teachers. At the same time the parents who meets such requirements by paying the humongous amount also plays a major part. No kala in Kalolsavam and its just money minting affair for lot of people 🙏

Suppose അവർക്ക് per day or per week നിലവിൽ കിട്ടുന്നത് 2-3 laks ആവാം എന്നാലും ഇതിനായി അവർ 10 days remuneration 1 lakh estimate ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്ന് കരുതുക. പിന്നെ അവർ ഒറ്റക്കല്ലല്ലോ വന്ന് പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്. അത്രയധികം കുട്ടികളെ പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിന് അവരുടെ crew കൂടെ ഉണ്ടാകാം. lets say each member 15k ആണെങ്കിൽ 5 പേർക്ക് 75k. അതിനായി അവർ എടുക്കുന്ന അവരുടെ travel, food and accomodation govt. provide ചെയ്താലും അവരുടെ cree members ന്റെ കാര്യങ്ങൾ അവർ തന്നെ നോക്കണ്ടേ. stay, food, travel ellam കൂടി 5 പേർക്ക് മിനിമം 2.5L to 3L ആയിരിക്കാം. അങ്ങനെ നോക്കിയാൽ തന്നെ 4.5 lakhs minimum ആകും and it can be vary by the role of each crew member, their travel itineraries, other needs etc. 5 lakhs for a professional is not too much bro. Its her choice, no one can complain unless you did something that much worth for free to her.
