FWIW, Loopop makes great videos (according to most people anyway), but it's rare that I want to sit through an hour detailed walkthrough on a synth I don't own, so I really appreciate these short videos that give us a taste of what the equipment can do, without the manufacturer marketing overlay, or the deep dive.

Nick my deepest sympathies for your broken hand area as I have full right to know how you feel as growing up broke most my bones in my body and have had several casts of sorts watch out for the itching fits you will experience but anyway being a big fan of ambient pads and the sort with beautiful effects, awesome filters and lots of capabilities I’d love the synth but for the moment out of my price range, I enjoyed your noodling around and it set a goal to save money to afford the kit (synth, kbd, ect) and keep up the decent demos you bring - cheerio :)

@@NatLifeSounds Better UI with the sequencer as the star of the show instead of the "keyboard" i don't really need. There is a separate power input so no ground loop and USB-C instead of the awful micro-USB that gets flimsy with time. There are also welcome editions like the "baseline mode", the VCA "always on" with the new VCA amount control, separate presets for the sequencer and the sound, and an additional ENV you can freelee send to anywhere you like. Also apparently the sound is not the same, it is extensively refined and smoothed according to Enrico from IK, the older versions are not compatible because of this. He also mentioned that build quality improved.

@@xfghffhfg I like keyboard version more. Step sequencer its not for synths its for drum machines. Plus you also can connect Uno Pro with USB-C + additional power for no noise, so here is no change. Possibly quality of product - but its time will show. New presets? hmm..for those how doing own it's not so important. Possibly slighty updated sound engine. But it's need test side by side. In fact you can buy Uno Pro for 150+eur now in used market in great condition, like new. Or pay 580 for just getting more controllers? But I can say you - believe me it's still not all controllers that you need for control the synth, in fact you still will use lcd menu same time) first version have a most important on panel and that's almost enough for quick using.

@@NatLifeSounds I much prefer the sequencer. 48 layers of modulations with this easy access really change all sound engine capabilities (like parameter locks with elektrons machines). I have no need for a keyboard, if i did I would use a master keyboard to control it. My most favorite synths have a built in sequencer, many classic synths do, like the TB303 that this PRO-X sequencer can mimic its behaviour with the new bass mode. I meant the USB connection on the synth, the Pro has a micro-usb that from my experience gets unreliable with time, the new X versions have a USB-C on it. You were right about the editional power on the earlier version, I missed that, but considering it's also micro-USB power connection I don't like that as well (the new one has a 2mm barrel port). It's not about "new presets", it's about having different presets to the sequencer and the sound engine, so you can change the sound without changing the sequence, or changing the sequence without affecting the sound. Iprice is not a factor for me when buying an instrument that will serve me for years, I don't want to compromise with my instrument and have something on my table just because i could get it for 200$ less, but I understand whoever do, if what you say it's right about the prices, the older one is amazing value.

Love the jam, Nick! Wondering how your RC505mk2 is synced to what you're playing? I saw the tempo flashing in time for what you played. I also have an RC505-mk2, and use my old Uno (not pro or pro x) and also a JU-06, both controlled by my Arturia Keystep 32. The mk2 can obviously pick up a beat from the initial audio loop, but after that, various synth wave forms and other pads will not align to the tempo. I know the answer is MIDI, but I don't see you connecting MIDI to your mk2. Using MIDI has been frustrating for me, because when I use the mk2 as the leader for clock, it also is sending start/stop signals and other things I don't want to send. My Keystep can be switched to different sync modes, so is that the ticket? Is there another way to only send mk2 clock signals and not start/stop/seq/arp signals? I love your videos, and have finally subscribed, since this is the only video I've seen online showing an Uno with an mk2. Would super appreciate any thoughts you can share about syncing with the mk2 and multiple modular synths.
