Canibus is an mc I never went back and checked out since he has no classic material people recommend or uphold. Listening to him finally, while he is a lyricist that’s rly all he has To mykes point I always think an album needs both production and rapping. The first canibus album is great rapping w super underwhelming production, so I don’t see why it should be upheld if there’s 100s of more classic hip hop albums w excellent rapping and excellent production

Nothing wrong with Canibus' production it just never fit him. He needed some Erick Sermon beats or something.

False. Canibus had the game in a chokehold for two years until he put out that debut album. Legends were scared to do songs with him. He's one of the greatest lyricists of all time. Hopsin is just Hopsin.

Lol funny how people want to say that Nas isn't growing as an artist and keep belittling everything he has done after illmatic. No one said illmatic wasn't great. It's an amazing historical album. Give credit to Nas. Do you think he makes music just for you guys to constantly say, "well this isn't illmatic...I don't like it". Appreciate the albums separately and maybe we can think objectively instead of always making comparisons to the previous that's attached to nostalgia.

Agreed. I understand what people were saying about the beats then, but even at that I still have a few mixtapes from DJs back in the day that had Canibus songs on them from the first album...and nobody was saying they were wack then. I even heard Buckingham Palace on a DJ Premier mixtape(maybe it was DJ Envy?). This was LONG before rappers started doing mixtapes as side projects, and just was ways for DJs in the 90s to get new music, blends, remixes, and Mashups out.

Unpopular Rap Album Opinion: I am a fan of Jay-Z but I don´t like The Black Album as much as other people do. I don´t think that it´s a Classic (In my opinion, Jay-Z has 2 Classics - Reasonable Doubt, The Blueprint) Yeah, The Black Album had some great songs (Interlude/Public Service Announcement, Encore, 99 Problems, Dirt off your Shoulder, Moment of Clarity, sometimes Lucifer), but some songs were really lackluster (The Neptunes Joints, December 4th, Threats (good performance by Jay-Z, boring 9th Wonder beat), My 1st Song (Jay-Z´s flow sounds strange while the Beat is good) and the weird Justify my Thug). Besides, I don´t like the album´s mixing and mastering which sounds distorted to me. Many people don´t like Jay-Z´s In my Lifetime Vol. 1 but I think that it´s a great album and better than The Black Album. Also, I enjoy American Gangster and even The Grey Album more than The Black Album 😅
@jahterminatedlmao54732 жыл бұрын
I agree with this. Although i dont like some of the songs you like and i like some of the songs you do like. I think dirt off your shoulder is bad, moment of clarity and lucifer are mid, but i love my 1st song and december 4th. also this brings up another unpopular opinion i have: 9th wonder is overrated af as a producer
@p86492 жыл бұрын
@@jahterminatedlmao5473 I have to admit that I am a bit harsh towards My 1st Song. Sometimes I find myself enjoying it, other times I can't stand Jay-Z's Hook that ruins an somewhat interesting and introspective Outro. Ha! I thought I was the only one thinking 9th Wonder is overrated! 😂 Since I enjoy jazzy, sample based and soulful production, I really tried to get into his beats. In addition to the occasional beat for other artists, I listened to the Ministrel Show, the Listening and his album with Buckshot... The Dude sounds like a boring, paint-by-the-numbers-version of Pete Rock, sry! I don't know why he's considered to be one of the best producers by many people... Do you have more unpopular opinions? Now I'm curious! One Love from Germany ✌️
