Australia's new icebreaking vessel RSV Nuyina has returned from it's first Antarctic voyage with scientific breakthroughs. The $528 million ship has discovered an enormous canyon underneath a glacier, which may be melting it faster than anyone expected.

This long-awaited voyage was delayed by the pandemic, which slowed the ship's construction at European shipyards.
But scientists believe the vessel will lead to a new generation of climate research in Antarctica.
