Btw what is the graph with all those links? Sorry I am new to Unreal and just learning... Do you have a tutorial that starts from a to z about how to setup sounds in a level including outside, inside, limited area sound , general sounds and so on?

the graph is the SoundClass "graph". it helps with sound groups organization & mixing the game. :) check my "mix your game" video for more of that. i am not doing very very basic stuff, there is already a lot on youtube. i'm just sharing cool little things here and there. if you're looking for a VERY good but basic tutorial, check out: www.raywenderlich.com/354-unreal-engine-4-audio-tutorial i used that when i started and I LOVED it.

Thanks you for the tutorial! I have one noob question, I hope you don't mind. Do you use submixes in those Audio volume to mute certain ambient sound and all audio component are playing simultaneously when your level start or do you have a AudioManager that handles playing audio and switching between ambient sounds? Sorry for the noob question, I don't usually handle the audio lol. Thanks :D.

HEY! Great video it really helped us with other issues like coding volumes and the like. This video lead us to realize we could make custom volumes for code triggers and the like because you mentioned custom audio volume shapes. We followed you audio volume shape tutorial to edit the shapes of other volumes for localized coding and other issues. Thanks a bunch for that. We now are going through our game and doing an audio pass and return to your videos to understand the audio volumes. I have made custom audio volumes that contain only an old house in the woods, and have added in night time cricket ambience sound that play level wide. However, I cannot get the volume to effect the sound of the crickets no matter what settings I use. Could you make a beginner's guide to using Audio Volumes? That would be awesome.

Why does my song play from the start once I leave and re-enter the fall off radius? How do you fix it so that the song plays continuously and loops again regardless if I enter or leave? Thanks.

look for "sound virtualization" / "play when silent" settings in the soundWave or soundCue or metasound, depending on what youre using. google might help as well. normally, if youre out of range, volume is 0, so UE stops playing and dealing with the sound to save ressources. this setting is made so that the source continues playing , even when out of range. not sure what the exact name is, but some googling around will help you. :)

Thanks for this video this helped me quite a bit! Although I have an issue where I would like my footsteps sounds to have a different reverb for different audio volumes. Can't get it to work, I don't know what I'm missing. The weird thing is that the ambiant volumes are doing what I want... but not the steps!!

@@iagomendez2807 1:05 in your soundWave or soundCue , assign a SoundClass to the sound. this way the soundClass setting "apply ambient volume" will apply to the sound.
