I am not what you would call a feminist. I have always been secure in my role as a woman but i so appreciate how you have brought out the important role of women in the Old Testament! I want to shout out to those women who criticize the church because they think the women of the church are diminished " come listen to Bro Halverson." I love these two brave midwives. Again thank you for my on going education of the Old Testament!!

Indeed Br. Halverson is so intune with the emotional parts on a Spiritual level as he thinks on them deeply, I can tell he does and love that so very much in him. To ponder and draw conclusions on “how would I feel, how did they feel, how would my wife feel if she was there in that time or position etc. To think as those in the scriptures as they surely are similar to us not just as as members and parents alike , but in those ancient times. This way of teaching I wish was more felt so also in Church on Sundays but since most of us don’t have the years of experiences from Seminary to a Professor etc, I am truly thankful of you Br. Halverson here via KZbin to light the way. Boy I am telling you it has changed my way of understanding the scriptures and peoples of all era’s much better. How we can add similar feelings of Spirit and hearts emotions I honestly feel the Spirit when you teach ! Thank you for this Blessing to thousands of us saints and even for investigators alike! The Lord gave you this calling Br. Halverson and how in your unique way it is passed on to others by members to those who also might feel lost with regular Sunday school at church classes etc! Thank you so very much! Hartelijk bedankt voor al uw hard werk iedere week!

I wouldn’t call Halvy a feminist any more than I would call him a masculinist, but I would say he honors the roles of men and women equally and strives to strike a balance between the two as God intended us to do. I detest male bashing as much as I detest female bashing.

Brother Jared….as one of your unshaken students I have found that it is through all of your “asides”…and personal testimony is where the dots of truth and light really do connect, to form the view of understanding with the Spirit. Again, I appreciate your dedication to teach us with, and more importantly in this Holy Spirit……as we have been admonished from our prophets…today it has never been more important to learn how the Spirit speaks to us as individuals. Whether by using a burning bush, or our burning heart…the truth is made known to us…through our faithful searches. Thank you for your faithful teachings…my understandings from them flames my desire to understand more…Keep up the good work😇👍

I was thinking how you are becoming a father to nations like these great patriarchs. A father sacrifices for his children. I’ve watched my brother in law, who is a step father to my nephews, earn their trust and the title of father to them as he sacrifices for them. We know Christ became our father through his great atoning sacrifice. You sacrifice for all your students(children) in class and online to help us come unto Christ and recognize his promises, blessings and the way back to our father in Heaven through the covenant path. You are becoming a father to nations as shown in all the comments from all over the world and as you open your home to spiritually lost children. A father takes the hand of his child and leads them and picks them up as they stumble. You are doing this with thousands upon thousands. You have earned the privilege of the sacred name of father to so many. So many call your name blessed and look up to you. It has made me want to sacrifice for others more and use my divine gift attributes to help mother more of our struggling human family. ❤️

Brother Halverson, I am so grateful for the inspiration you receive as you teach. The Lord has been answering my prayers concerning my children and how I should parent them. It has been truly powerful just how much the Old Testament has applied to my and my husband's lives at this specific time as we parent our children and allow them to exercise their agency and yet still love them.

For years and years, I have studied the scriptures, attended Sunday School, read institute manuals, attended institute classes, listended to general conference talks, but until began learning from you, dear Brother Halverson, I have learned very little. You have opened my eyes to the understanding of the scriptures that I have longed for for many, many years. Thank you. Only two small words, but how I wish they resonate throughout eternity for how very grateful I am that I am finding the meaning and answers that I've longed for and needed.

As a grandfather, I have known most of the modern prophets, mostly in General Conference. I can remember when I could only hear the Prophets speak. Now, we are given access in supernal technological ways! But my grandchildren have no institutional knowledge of McKay, Lee, Hunter, Benson, Hinckley, Monson, and maybe Nelson. Let us write in our journals our testimony, recounting our experiences with each of these Prophets. Thank you, brother Halverson, for emphasizing the need to keep the younger generation informed. We have an opportunity to video ourselves and our testimony. Then, using the powerful resources of the Church, we can upload these videos to Family Search memories.

In my book, she ponders on the significance of her name as a heritage of the courage of Shiphrah the midwife who saved the male babies in Israel! She tries to emulate her namesake. And she tries to get her sisters to do the same with their heritage from their namesake (other biblical women heros.) My book is fiction but there is power in pondering the women of the bible. I’ve always looked to Moses’s story as the most beautiful adoption story. Both the biological & the adoptive mother love the child & both want the child to live and both want the child’s life to succeed & what is in the child’s best interest. Both love the child. It was hard for the biological mother to give up her son, but in order for the child to live & succeed, she had to give him up. Pharaoh’s daughter, adoptive mother, also loved & had compassion & committed herself to a child she didn’t have the natural hormones released in her body, like a bio mom would have as part of the birthing experience, but yet the adoptive mom loved a child not her own, as her own. She did everything in her power to help the child succeed. Both moms love the child!

The word "preside" is unsavory to me - no one seems to know what it really means, but I personally feel that you cannot have equality and one person "presiding". My husband and I are co-leaders in our home. We preside over our children together. I think without that balance of yin and yang, the family does not live up to it's full potential.

I am always "turning aside to see" to the point I lose track of what I was originally studying. It took me over 4 years to read Jesus the Christ because I was so busy checking out the references and all. I finally had to stop and read it like a story and when I finished, go back through and do all the extras. I got a greater understanding of it that way. Now I take notes as I study so I can go back and revisit my impressions. That way I both learn and stay on track. The only way this ADHD brain can follow.... Lol!

Brother H! Thank you for being such an instrument in the hand of Christ to help us turn aside to see! This very hour and I was in muddy shoes troubled and ways that perhaps I can share that another time. But I did put off my shoes from off my feet and Neil on Holy ground in the middle of an anxious load and please with our God through My Savior Jesus Christ for the wisdom and strength to let go the fear of saying I don't know to a dear friend who is had to take up residences with me in the throes of a heartache so deep and needing so much wisdom and me not knowing how to best help except to turn her to our God. And the thought kept coming to me that she may be as Esther with so much more on the line for her and her loved ones and the scepter may be raised against her and her heart's desire. But come what may if she is anchored In Christ she will know how to navigate. This has been an exquisite hour for me and she will come with me in a few more hours to listen again to the insights that God has given to you to share with your students. Our prayers are with you and yours as you try to navigate while doing battle with the powers of darkness who would get in your way of being our teacher and the bringer to the lLight! 🙏 Angels all around you!

He is God because He exists… He is not some god of mans thoughts or desires or product of his hands but this god of the Hebrews is the only god that truly exists. But then you stopped there. You never got to the answer of Moses’ question when Moses asked what he should say when the Hebrews ask,”What is his (God’s) name? What shall I (Moses) say?” The answer came in verse 15. “Thus shall thou [Moses] say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God…hath sent me unto you; this is my name for ever…” You know “The LORD” is the tetragrammaton, YHWH, meaning Jehovah without the vowels. But we now know the vowels. There have been at last 28 times in ancient Hebrew scriptures where the whole name was written out- Yod He Vah Hey in Hebrew letters pronounced YeHoVah. (Interestingly, the first two times the vowels were found in scripture were when the hijackers of two planes on 9-11 were yelling that Alla was the one true god.) YeHoVah is His name. This is the name we are to remember and be a “memorial unto all generations”. His name is mentioned over 6800 times in the bible. The Hebrews were commanded to remember this name, to swear by this name and to know [YaDa] this name not “I AM”. I AM is not even capitalized in Hebrew. You are into English. Verse 14 is the “being” verb- it describes his state of being-He is. Verse 15 is the noun, specifically a proper noun- His Name, Yehovah. Additionally, the name YeHoVah is a combination of three forms of the verb “I am”: I am who was, I am who is and I am who will be. That is the definition of truth, the knowledge of things as they are, were and shall be. Essentially Jehovah’s name in English is “TRUTH”. All of the above statements have references if you want them. Thanks so much for your insights, Jim M

Some may feel that because of women not having the priesthood outside the temple here in mortality, that their role is diminished. Quite to the contrary. The Lord has always emphasized the humble and nurturing nature of women, and has oft warned about men "offending thee," for it is better that they exist not than to do so. Women by nature are as the Lord. Men are more in training and in need of the priesthood to learn that which comes to most women so naturally and innately. God bless.

2:40:09 talking about sacrifice of time: I a few years back I realized that with our needs taken care of…food, shelter, access to clean running water, sanitation, etc that paying tithing didn’t feel like a sacrifice like I thought it should….but time on the other hand….I didn’t have enough minutes any day to accomplish all that I wanted. That’s when I realized, that’s what I needed to do in order to feel the feeling of sacrifice. So I calculated 10% of each day’s minutes (24 hrs x 60 min =1.440 min x 10%= 144 min = 2 hrs & 24 mins every day (yes I count a good night’s sleep as “tithe-able” since I appreciate a good night’s sleep😂). 2 hrs & 24 hours seemed like a huge sacrifice to me…so I went with 2 hours….waking up extra early, which meant I needed to sacrifice an earlier bedtime to make it happen. My life has significantly changed. I’m not perfect at this…some days it’s just 24 mins or even none still…but those are by far few in number now. I miss scripture study on the days it doesn’t happen. I’m sure those who daily study with Bro Halverson feel the same

It occurs to me that if the Israelites hadn't suffered to some extent that Moses would never have been able to drag them away from Egypt to stomp around the wilderness for 40 years. Of they didn't know about the 40 year part until they whined so much God blessed them with that punishment so they could wander til they died. People never change.

this lesson was the perfect example of our government leaders (and women of the world) who have no idea of what "women" are. A reporter just did a whole documentary interviewing women and men of government and other organizations who claim to promote women and their "cause". He asked only the question of "define what a woman is?" No one had an answer. It was alarming and saddening.

Thank you for your insights! I think the Pharaoh at the time of Moses was Akhenaten. He had a brother named Thutmose. Akhenaten also brought monotheism to Eqypt.
