This morning I received news that felt like a gut punch. I was processing. I logged onto your presentation and as I thought of them launching, knowing they were going into the deep, oh boy I was there. I realized I had a choice: to either give into fear and hopelessness, or, to realize I’ve done everything I can, and now it’s time to give everything over to God, trust in Him and just have faith. I’m only part way through but had to drop the comment that so far this is anything but boring for me. It put my challenge into perspective. My heart is still hurting and I am still dealing with uncertainty, I still feel crushed but I anticipate reaching the shore with gratitude.

These words were meant for our day. The gloom and doom is all around, and a lot of people really don't care about all the sin, lawbreaking, cheating, murders and deceit that goes on. Everything that happened in Ether 6-11 is happening right now in our day so it is an eye opening set of scriptures to prepare us for the conflicts that happen prior to the 2nd Coming of Christ.

Thank you for the lesson of Ether 6-11. Being a convert of the Church I take a warning from these chapters to do all I can to not let hearts get so far from God that we destroy ourselves. I strive daily to pour some sunshine into people's souls that we will join together in God's love. These chapters are to awaken us to hold on with all our might to the iron rod forever. Blessings

There is a really cool symbolic story here that shows the journey of us from the pre-existence into mortality...Sadly we miss it. I'm 50 and I just saw it this year.

I definitely think there are issues of great concern that apply to us in these chapters. “The” secret combination that exists is the big one. I believe we can be given our own personal direction about how to expose and combat it if we ask/pray for that. Being responsible citizens and trying to be involved in influencing righteous government is definitely something we can pray to be guided about. We can certainly teach our children about being responsible citizens and how being righteous and involved is important. The thing that fuels secret combinations is their secrecy and the choice of people to ignore the commandments of God. I am very interested these chapters…. They’re in here for a reason.

Omer deserved more attention. He was a righteous king told in a dream to flee. Humble enough to go from a theoneroom to a tent. Thtn to build up a city that people could and did flee to wh4n the crazy got too much. He was also was the father of Emer, who had a righteous and prosperous society and was able to see the Savior. That is a story worth highlighting.

Omer seemed to be righteous even though he was father to wicked Jared and a friend to wicked Akish. Later on, Omer begat Emer . Seems both Omer and Emer were righteous. Emer saw the Son of Righteousness. Emer begat Coriantum who was also righteous . (Ether 9 )

Is hard to keep all these people clear in my mind. Seems that the most important aspect of anyone’s life is… if they were righteous and obeyed God. Or not. Even when we read history and /or family history these are the most important aspects of a persons life.

I like the fact that they referred to the boats as tight like into a dish because our testimonies need to be tight like unto a dish, where nothing but the spirit can enter.

Yes. The pride cycle is depressing, but I did an interesting experiment. Back in Ether chapter 1 it gives the names of the political leaders throughout all those generations. I asked myself was this one righteous or wicked? If I am not mistaken I count 21 who were righteous and 7 who were wicked. I guess what I am saying is that even though this ends with destruction there were periods of righteousness. First time commenting. Very long time listener.😢😮😅😊

i hear the prophets warning in the way he can by invitation even now we are at the doors . there is no middle ground between right and wrong now , we have to be on the side we want right now . he said i am afraid if you are not active you might not be able to listen to the promptings of the holy ghost to direct us when we need it most.

As I read these chapters with the patterns of wickedness and destruction, I kept hearing Ron Weasley's voice in my head saying, "How thick can you get?" Seriously, though, we live in the latter days, and we can see this type of wickedness happening all around us. We need to be aware.

I have been reading the scriptures and it hurts so Yes Indeed .I am going through hard time with family that close and going through the vail and other members going through mental changes and? Yes I don't know what type of changes... So reading these type of things and society and our society own changes ugh not pretty... 5:24 I enjoy the faith of the boat ride and before See Jesus Christ before he having faith to see him before any one other than Adam?
