best ever my grandparents weren’t allowed to be married in the 60s because they had an interracial relationship. Maybe it’s possible for someone like Ryan, or I, to exist back then, but it is less probable given the amount of prejudice against mixed couples and the intolerance towards mixed children. I’m the product of 3 different interracial marriages, both grandparents and then my parents, and I know if they were born only a few decades earlier they would not have had the option of marriage and starting a family so I would not be here. There’s always the possibility of having kids outside of marriage, obviously, but there was also larger intolerance towards that so 🤷🏽‍♀️
