My immediate family. Narcissistic abuse destroyed it. I left 20 yrs ago as the empath/scapegoat. I’ve been healing layers for so long-in isolation. Finally feeling better. My programming said I was not wanted/enough etc. I will never get near anything like this again. It destroyed my sense of self. Thank you Jill for stating this so truthfully 💚

Happy New Year Jill! Unfortunately, I married into a creepy, narcissistic family. I had no idea how dysfunctional they were and since my husband died a few months ago, I no longer have any contact with them and I am happy and free. Woo-hoo!

Have to please the whole family of them or they all punish you and treat you like crap. Horrible marriage in that family for too many years. So glad to hear this video. So much validation !😢😢😢😢😢😢

In my case, parents weren’t narcissists, but one sibling became a narcissistic as an adult causing more trouble than you can imagine to the family of origin, triangulating, dominating and controlling. I think it’s because she married a narc and then became one herself. She’s in her 60’s now and about as malignant and sociopathic as a narc can be. She’s even violent and dangerous. The top of the spectrum

If you don’t figure this out as an adult. You will wind up with life partners that are just the same, and live on repeat. 🤕

So spot on! My dad's mom was one of those people. She was born in 1912. She had 4 sons and 1 daughter, my dad was her firstborn. What a mess! I think she was one of 12 siblings. She was definitely full of piss and vinegar 😢. Ruined my family tree somewhat, but my dad emerged as totally uninfected by her "ailment". Both are dead now, but I think I know who I want to be like 😊

You nailed it, once again, as if you were there with us. The family head narcissist was our mother, from whom I finally walked away and christened, "Miss Information, the Queen of Envy". She was the amalgam of Jezebel and Athaliah, and she made her children's lives a living hell. Our father was the paternal and maternal leader in our family, providing the only love and acceptance we kids ever got, and he was a mustang Marine recon officer! Our mother managed to train at least one of her children to be just like her, constantly competing and making blanket (and often false) comparisons to diminish his siblings like, "I'm better looking than you" or "I'm more athletic than you" or "I'm smarter than you." One day, the dolt walked up to me and, out of blue, said, ""My penis is bigger than yours"! LOL! He's grown into a horrible, middle-aged monster, despised and mocked by everyone.

💢Nothing more toxic than coming to grips with the reality that the people who were supposed to be "parents" were really in competition with them the whole time❗🤔💭 It's like well damn, I just got ripped off....
@VoxJoxxКүн бұрын
My rotten narcissistc father blamed me for my mother being ill, what was I supposed to do with the weight of this hideous responsibility, blaming and toxic gameplay? I knew then something was really mentally wrong with my family and it permeated it to its core. I had to leave them like a very bad relationship, I ended all contact, I never went to my mother's funeral because there was too much game play and toxicity, I was happy I was strong enough not to go. In the end I owed them nothing.

A born-again, Conservative Texas, church brought out every narcissistic trait my parents have. The love in my family was practically non-existent. They tried hard to make we children compete for any affection. Thank goodness my grandparents and family on my father’s side were absolutely opposite. My mother was/is in absolute control of my father and he literally worships her. And ohhhh, the rage.
