Thank goodness the refs are finally cracking down on the atrocious behavior in college football. Can you believe that some players get excited and like to celebrate a good play?! Fist pumping?! Muscle flexing?! Pointing at the crowd?! They're out of control. It's ridiculous and deserves some sort of penalty. If we allow players to have fun then who knows what awful things will happen next.

No waving, bowing, praying, no hands up, keep your hands to your side and exit the field immediately, do not celebrate, do not shout and never taunt the other team. You will offend the officials who are paid to punish for such activities unmoral to the world of sports. Most importantly never express happiness on the field. Who is running this, Hittler? or maybe the liberals? Get a grip, learn to relax, it's a game. Too many rules spoils the sport. Too bad.

gtlip yes! we need to get rid of that classless shit like being hugged by the mascot after a touchdown and doing a trick play! And we also must make sure that football isnt destroyed by all of those players hyped up on emotions and adrenaline in front of thousands of people! We cant let them celebrate their skill or talent, that might ruin the game! Actually, I think a new rule be that once someone scores, both teams must turn around and, with correct and upright posture, walk straight back to their sidelines looking at neither their team, the crowd, other players, or pretty much anything but their shoes and the turf. If we did this, the sport could be saved!

@JAShalvey7 жыл бұрын
Perhaps because the "deception" occurs prior to the snap of the football. All the others that you have mentioned occur AFTER the ball has been snapped.
@ImaginaryHuman0728897 жыл бұрын
good point, but there's still deception that occurs prior to the snap that isn't called a unsportsmanlike conduct. for example, i remember seeing one college play (i think it was michigan state) where the offense lined up like they were running a normal play, but before the snap, they had everyone run off the field and had their special teams run out onto the field, but actually what happened was that only 10 people "traded' positions instead of 11, and one wide receiver stayed in-bounds, and they ran a fake field goal and threw to the wide open receiver (because no one on the defense knew he was even there, they thought he ran off the field)
@thecrazycatdad7 жыл бұрын
ImaginaryHuman072889 If you're talking about the michigan game against rutgers, they were actually penalized for that because that's considered a simulated replacement of a player in order to confuse an opponent. Deception prior to the snap that is legal would be like a fake spike, where the qb is making the spike motion and then throws a pass instead of spiking the ball. Georgia tech got away with the fake substitution on a field goal against clemson.

***** Says someone who has never competed for anything in their life... Seriously, if you were to ever put all you had into winning any sport or competition, especially one that is as physically demanding as football, you're goin' to feel great when you succeed and you're gonna act out a little bit... There is no "class" is no celebrating. There is no "disrespect" because you flex your arms. The college isn't teaching these kids a damn thing other than, "You shouldn't have emotions or feel good if you do well." Which is a shitty thing to teach. Now, if you're being excessive, that's different. If you're running over to an opponent and getting in their face, or gesturing something inappropriate, I agree that they should learn to control themselves... But being happy isn't a bad thing and you should stop treating it like it is.
@DaejinTye10 жыл бұрын
***** I think I'm someone who understands people, competitors and and situations much more thoroughly than you do. You can dislike me all you want, I hit the nail on the head, which is why you're so mad and/or offended. You don't know shit about competitions, emotions, class or acting out and your first post proves that. Don't think that being an anonymous poster on the internet means that mindless dribble doesn't have a price. If you didn't want to debate, you should have never posted. I'm done with the likes of you. Learn to use line breaks when you type. It's sloppy.

I think a football player would understand, unlike those fatfucks referees. You should understand if you were a pro player, I mean imagine if you get the best promotion in the job, wouldn't you go out for dinner with your wife or celebrate in some way. This is the way football players celebrate with their team there is nothing unsportsmanlike when celebrating by hugging or jumping as long as that player did not intend it against the other players or cause harm to other players

This is not only a spectator sport, it's a GAME. People should be allowed to have fun. It gets the crowd going. Why do you think FIFA has become so popular? Because they have ridiculous celebrations after every goal, and it's ENTERTAINING. This is why I don't watch football. They're just against any sort of fun or pride in the game. They expect all of the players to be robots.

Intent to deceive is a legitimate foul but I have seen some truly ridiculous calls in my day. We had a player get an "unnecessary roughness" penalty for hitting a guy too hard. Our LB stepped up and rocked an OL coming to block him at the point of attack (not away from the ball or behind it but at the hole). OL buckled and no gain on the play. Suddenly we see a flag from the white hat who said our guy didn't need to hit the lineman "that hard". WTF? We were getting beat up pretty good in the game and WE get tagged for an unnecessary roughness call on a legit play? Crazy. BTW - the white hat was an insurance guy.

I used to love college football. Used to watch with my dad. But officiating has become a joke. Unsportsmanlike conduct used to be for real taunting, late hits,, etc... not basically saying 'hot damn', or looking at th your team and the crowd and saying, 'hell yes, we are in this game', or slapping hands with the mascot, etc... now if you show any emotion at all its unsportsmanlike. I wonder what they would have done to my college back then. A military college, VMI, whenever we scored a touchdown the Rats (freshmen) would run to the end zone and do push ups equal to the score. The damn stripes would likely just give us an auto 15 yards per play the rest of the season. Until refs/umps and the college rules go back to real rules then screw em..

Unsportmanlike conduct although overblown on occasion is a good rule. It promotes no being a bad sport or a douche and shows kids that watch not to act like assholes. I play football and it sucks because when a douche does it, theres not much you can do except chirp back and then you get in trouble. I also play baseball and if someone showboats home run or whatnot you simply throw a ball at him to see a message XD. I played and love hockey and thats the best because you can really police your own sport.
@Prymer5510 жыл бұрын
That's the difference with hockey right there. If you don't like someone showboating or celebrating because they crammed a puck up your ass, you go and take care of him! I bet in a few years they're going to make it where if you score a touchdown you're going to have to walk up to each player on the opposing team and apologize. Then if they win, they will have to write a letter to each of their parents and apologize for embarrassing their precious little boy.

John Jean Given that no on scores a touchdown alone, it is a bit douchy when you decided to act like you just accomplished something when it was a team accomplishment. Run to the sideline, wait for the O-Line and the rest to get there and do what Washington used to do: do a group high five.
