What level of math do you need to be able to do because on the defense jobs Australia sight it says that you need to pass year 12 with University level mathematics witch is confusing as I only know that there is standard, advanced, extension 1 and extension 2 maths

It’s going to be tough to get in as a pilot with thousands of applicants. I’m trying to meet the requirements that are outlined throughout this video. Thanks for the information!

You should be good there Isnt that many applicants and as long as you have the right qualifications you should be able to get in

Don’t mention it ever to a recruiter and improve your fitness so much that it’s not noticeable and you’ll be fine. Get involved in cross country and athletics

yeh they'll stop you from getting in if they hear you have anything. plenty of the raafies have 'issues' but their still in because they don't mention it ever

Hi my name is Nick and I'm hoping to join ADFA and I'm 15 this year i Do Cadets and i am getting my private pilot licence AND Even go to an aviation high school i even Really have a passion for aviation . Do i have a alright chance to get in? Any tips? I Have even done ALLOT Of sport Professionally. will i have a good chance to join?
@explosivoking9 жыл бұрын
RaidedInHD HDRaids It is easy to say all this but do you really mean it? I do cadets as well and its a great program. About getting your private pilots license, it is a good idea if you are willing to keep that in the back of your mind when you go in for training. Some people find it easy to take that knowledge and put it into a military environment and some stifle at this. Sport dosen't mean a whole lot when it comes to flying, but it will help through training. Air force personnel need to be fit so good job. Passion is an amazing and needed. Keep at it and im sure if your personality and 'you' as a whole fit the bill then im pretty sure that you can get in. Hope to see you there one day!

I went for pilot If you have ANY medical problems they'll say go away and reject you (or medically unfit as they say). You have to score pretty much 100% in the most ridiculous aptitude test. It is impossible to finish it. If you want a whisker of a chance, do about 100 practise aptitude exams online (google them) and then you might be good enough to just get in. If you don't pass first time you have to wait 6 months and if you fail that, 6 months again, fail again and you can never go into the defence forces again. Good luck. Lots of pressure put on you by the adf.

Is this course available for airline pilots
@jamesm74144 жыл бұрын
The ADF does not train airline pilots however they do fly military variants of airliners like the 737 which are highly modified for defence purposes as per the requirements set by the ADF.
@Maverickusesaclutch3 жыл бұрын
@@jamesm7414 you can become an airline pilot from the RAAF, most ex RAAF pilots fly for qantas or virgin

im age 14 rn. What academic requirements does it take to be a fast jet pilot
@jamesprice62912 жыл бұрын
Most of the information can be found out by checking out the ADF website or just by searching online. Just do your best academically, you will need y12 passes in English and maths (at least further/general, but higher level math is desirable). Having passed y12 physics is also desirable. in addition leadership experience is desirable as the pilot role is classed as officer. If you graduate y12 with the appropriate passes or something equivalent to it you will need to pass 2 aptitude tests one being a general and one being additional testing specific to aviation. Go through medical, eye sight has to be near perfect along with heigh requirements etc Then further more attend the ASP (aviation screening) which is a 2 day aptitude test on steroids. pass those with high enough marks then you'll be selected. Once selected you'll have to attend and officer selection board and demonstrate your potential as a leader. Then you have to maintain your top performance while at RAAF Base East Sale to confirm your suitability as a pilot and stand out from the others enough to be streamed into fast jets. It's a long process, so be prepared to have to fight for it if you really want it. PS: I would cross check this information as this has been somewhat rushed, and getting used to doing your own research will prepare you for the OSB as you will be quizzed on the role, know everything inside-out. PPS: Get good at mental maths early, in HS you tend to rely on calculators too much especially in y11 to y12, Keep your skills sharp there.

@@jamesprice6291 Hey James, I'm 15 and in yr 10, was wondering can you give me a bit more detail in the medical and academic requirements for RAAF fast jet pilots. As I currently have glasses, but they are near to being perfect, I'm doing some regular eye exercises and I see a lot if improvement, can you explain more?

Playing sport and being fit would help a lot, and general common sense - you need quick thinking ability and be well spoken.

Missed the boat for this comment probably but you can be enlisted at any age permitting you can complete your ROSO (return of service obligation) by the retirement age, 65. So for army pilot with a roso of 13 years, you would be cut off after 52.
