Wrong. The NATO Treaty known as the Geneva Accords says that NO Counry''s Uniformed Military Personnel can use Torture as an Interrogation Tactic. Nothing in there says that Private Security Contractors cannot do so. Do you really think our Marines and Seals NEEDED security to protect them? We've been using Mercs/Contractors since Vietnam. And, we aren't the only ones doing it. They have done their worst to keep you safely going to the local store and your daughters going to the prom. We're in literally a handful of Countries that has never seen Combat on our soil(excluding the Civil War). People like this are the reason why. They also go back to places We've pulled out of, to rescue our people who are left behind.

@uncle_Samssubjects You're right. Perhaps more than you realize. It's been done for centuries by any country with a standing army. What we call "at risk" nowadays is basically the poor. They are the primary pool of bodies to fill a military. The first thing done in military training is behavior modification. The old "break em down to build em back up." The most effective soldiers are often the ones who have a strong ability to set aside conscience in a combat setting.

In ww2 the Luftwaffe had a interogator who got more information out of our fliers than anyone else. He developed a rapport with the prisoners, was kind to them treated them as human beings. They opened up to him, w/o knowing. After the war, his former prisoners sponsored him to come live in the US.
