In the arid deserts of the Larkana District in the Sindh region of Northern Pakistan lay incredibly special ruins. Stone blocks and walls hint at the presence of a vast city that once stood here around 2500 BCE, standing proud and bustling with ancient people until around 1700 BCE. Forty thousand souls from the Indus Valley Civilisation called this city - now known as Mohenjo Daro - home; where they lived, worked and survived just as modern humans do. Rediscovered by the Archaeological Survey of India in 1919, almost four thousand years after it was abandoned by its original inhabitants, it was revealed to be the largest city of the Indus Valley Civilisation, and the artefacts that have been uncovered here are amongst the most culturally significant of all finds from ancient history.
Today, we will be exploring what this ancient city was like when it stood tall thousands of years ago. We will look at the people who lived there, what they built in Mohenjo Daro, and the objects they left behind that have made this ancient settlement such an important site for archaeologists. Sit back and relax as we take you back to the 26th Century BCE to explore Mohenjo Daro - one of the most spectacular lost cities of all human history.

Dravidian languages aren't nearly extinct. They're spoken by around 250 million people.

I object to this civilization being Pakistani - the modern Pakistanis do not make any such claims (mainstream) and there have been bigger sites that belong to this Civilization which have been found in India. These discoveries paint a picture of a civilization with a comparatively larger area in India. Further more Historians speculate that there maybe some linkages culturally to modern India and its cultures.

Spot on, and Dravidian languages are nowhere near extinct, poorly reasearched video by a channel which I used to think is pretty good history channel, now i have doubts about the authenticity of previous videos from this channel.

but modern-day Pakistani people (especially Punjabi-Sindhis) are mostly native to this land. And Indus valley civilization is present in grade 1 books of Pakistani schools.

It is Indian civilization, to which Pakistan is a part. There was an evolution in Indian civilization after Islam was introduced in India. There developed an Indo-Muslim civilization, as a Part of Indian civilization. Pakistan represents that subset of Indian civilization, which is Indo-Muslim civilization.

I like this channel but its missing a "host". I think that would be a great addition. Even a human narrator would be nice.

In 1900bc the very prosperous and wealthy Indus Valley civilization, made up of over 2000 cities, was under imminent threat of invasion.by the warring and horse riding Androvo/Sintashta/Steppe cultures active in the area at the time. ( 2000 bc to 1150 bc), The IVC did not disappear, (later excavation did not find human remains consistent with an invasion ) but actually evacuated the Valley and migrated/relocated to the east and the south of Iindia mixing further with the native HG and coming to be known as ASI. The evacuation/ migration /relocation appears as part of the IVCs strategic response to un unbeatable invasion - confirmed by the absence of an Army Weapons of war, fortresses and other Defense mechanisms So, the first Invasion could not happen because it was preempted by the IVC who had to abandon their cities and their Valley.

The second Invasion of India appears as a reminder of the Stonehenge experience and happened beginning 1500bc when male biased nomadic Steppe horse riding pastoralist entered the indo gangetic plain and subdued the indigenous HG. The exploitation of the natives included the practise of native male displacement when necessary, discriminate, unregulated and unrestricted co habitation and persisted over 2000 years from 4200BP to 1900bc until Endogamy was imposed By this time the Steppe ancestry had extensively influenced the genetics of north India, now known as the ANI.

I liked the presentation but would caution against sending any money-It is in Iran- and looking at Hamas's recent rocket attacks, it's little trouble to know who paid for them.
