Then we head to Houghton/Hancock for a brewery that made a man's life; a trip deep, down under and under UP copper country; and a historic bar where they pack people in with their famous pickled eggs. Poland I was told that it's totally the same but different as in it's clean clean like some lakes you can not even boat or swim or fish in too keep the water clean in some lakes and the woods in Poland are just like the Upper parts of Michigan. In Poland they have the last standing oldest woods that has not been burn down in war it's a big chunk of Poland.

I clicked this hoping to see some mountains…….at least you have some very beautiful hills! That’s ok, nowhere is perfect and I am looking forward to all the other amazing sights to see in the UP…..I just won’t count on mountains being one of them 😊

I used to live on the Upper back in the early 80"s for about 6 years. Certainly one of the most beautiful places that I ever lived. I lived just west of Curtis between there and Germfask. The best hunting and fishing one could ever want. I worked all over the upper as logging and pulping were the primary sources of income up there. I hear it's still just as desolate of people and beautiful as it was 40 years ago. Gods country, But believe me come winter time even he heads south. LOL

I was the first female bartender in the Douglass House Saloon in 1972. Hired by Bob Melia also known as Bobby Good Guy. This was his anchor name when he hosted an a.m. radio program broadcasted out of the Douglass House. I was in all of the beauty of this beautiful building and also the diversity of a wonderful characters that came in and out of the bar. The original mirror behind the bar was one solid piece of glass that ran the entire length of the bar. Unfortunately a college student decided to throw his beer mug Into the lengthy mirror and it had to be replaced with panels of glass mirrors.🪞 Armando Vinelli was the manager of the Douglas House. He was an Admiral in the Naval Reserves. After leaving the UP I joined the Navy WAVES 🧜‍♀️. I miss the Houghton Hancock area. I miss the beautiful snowfalls. It is truly God's country. Hello Uppers!
