Josh Thompson you are 100% correct. Speed and revs don't work, Brains and Tire pressure do work as he well displayed all be it with a little bit of flair. When will some of these learn to gain a good contact patch between tire and ground, FFS drag racers use this too for traction. Just my thoughts John, Australia.

Another classic vid. Just goes to show how many people with 4x4 that have no idea how to drive. When one person drives from the water all the way up the hill and out in reverse he has the correct tyre pressure and in low range. That just proves how easy it is.

more like he was worried it wouldn't make it going forwards so reversed up. most 4wds go better in reverse on sand which is a good thing, if you get bogged going forwards you can always reverse out. unless you're a muppet that spins the wheels until it's buried to the frame lol.

I've driven up that little hill in a 1964 kombi with an open diff , I can't under stand the logic of not letting tyres down because it might damage them but it's ok to risk thousands of bucks worth of driveline components plus the cost of recovery from Fraser .

I think it needs to be said that letting your tires down from 40psi (road pressures what ever) to 20psi is not "LETTING YOUR TIRES DOWN" for soft sand like this situation. Letting them down to 12psi or 10psi is letting your tires down...

Not sure with the models you guys get but it seemed to not have rear lockers (or didn't engage them). In South Africa the 4x4 version comes with center and rear lockers. Those rims are standard 18" here and thats a shait size to have for beach driving. Maybe he just got it

I prefer to run 12 psi, and I'm not afraid to drop it to 10. It can make an enormous difference.

Abit off topic but still wanted to share - Took my 2016 Mazda BT-50 into Grand Prix Mazda in Caboolture for some clicking noises in the dash. Came back to pick the car up, they are replacing it all under warranty also a starter motor and while they were there they threw in some new headlights as the original ones had a slight shade of UV wear. There are some good chaps out there I tell ya!!!

The reason you don't see most not dropping their tyre pressures is because they don't have a compressor to air back up again.....spend $60K on a car and scrimp on basic recovery gear.....I think it comes down to either inbreeding creating a dumber species of non-self reliant or the "Age of entitlement" mentality that someone else will solve my problem.
