Pat on the back for setting the example by wearing life jackets! Given the heartbreaking event on of our popular salmon fisheries this fall I think we are all thinking twice about it these days.

Great video, really cool to see the center pin stuff! That reel shot at 12:30 was sick!! 👍🏻

Looks like that was a fun float. Lots of catching for such a low river.

Chad, Several questions?? On your center pin rods, what is the weight for the Salmon versus Steelhead or do you use the same setup but just up your leader? Also, your twitching rod, what size and action do you prefer? Thanks Chad, Mike
@ElevatedFishingАй бұрын
@@TheSpeyfisher We use 1oz floats and tungsten stick weights for salmon and steelhead downsize to 1/2oz for weights and sticks mostly. Twitching rods are around 7ft with a fast action and 8-15lb rating roughly.
@TheSpeyfisherАй бұрын
@ElevatedFishing Thanks Chad! I guess the question I was getting at, are you using the same pin rod for both salmon and Steelhead or do you have several rods you use ? One for Steelies and I'm the other for Salmon? If that makes sense? Lol
@ElevatedFishingАй бұрын
@ different rods for each. I like a 10-20 for chinook and 8-14 for steelhead. Sometimes lighter on smaller fisharies.

In that low water, are you using 1oz or 1/2 bobbers. what size of hooks are you using with smaller presentations
@ElevatedFishing2 ай бұрын
@@Plandonb We normally use 1 oz and 3/0 hooks for bait. 1/0 or 2/0 for bead dropper.

Are you using braided line on the CP ? Sounds like braid going through the guides. Never seen that, how do u find it?

@@t.j.watson7544 Yes. We use braid. It’s called x-braid upgrade. Made in Japan.

@@MichaelOngthaweekiet We use x-braid upgrade in 50lb for mainline and sts fluorocarbon for leader. Mostly 20 and 30lb.

what is the rod and reel combo? looks like a fly spey rod set up almost.
@ElevatedFishing2 ай бұрын
Its a centerpin rod and reel. It looks similar to a fly rod but its a different technique. No drag and a direct line to the fish.
