Love the way the galley turned out! Effective and efficient, especially for both of you being "in the kitchen", like you mentioned. Also took note of your comment about the fresh water and that its typically 8-9 days before you need to see people again. Tracy & I got a kick out of that and both relived what we did/didn't love about the Georgian Bay & North Channel :)

We've been talking a lot about our day aboard Little Blue T! We are getting closer to where we met you that day! In terms of not needing to see people: it comes and goes. Chris would like to do some more days without trailing other boats. Quiet anchorages . I'm good with that but I'm finding I need people every few days. We are leaving Green Turtle Bay in a few days so we are both hoping that we can slow down. This mad rush of 300 boats to get here has been a bit exhausting! We reallly miss you guys. Hoping a few days work out so that we can come and see you both in Roswell. Say hi to Bill and Beth and also to Abi! XO

Draw the rear berth on graph paper and make sure you will have room to get around a double or queen bed without having to crawl over each other. Good luck and hope all your hard work pays off with KZbin. We're enjoying your videos.

Chris needs to wrap his head around what we will do. It's stymied us, and we haven't returned to thinking about it yet. Thanks for watching!

Thank you for another interesting and enjoyable video. Lovelly boat, use her and dont worry too much about changing her around. I find a plastic washing up bowl inside the sink uses less water and allows you to let water down the drain while still having the warm water in the bowl. Sadly I have found nearly all guests a stress. I put in a pump out shower. I found built in seats were never comfortable. I use a selection of folding ones.

Cheers from yyz. Concerning bed in aft cabin. Elevate the bed for Queen mattress. This will gove you lots of storeage below as well. To understand what I mean Look at the forward master cabins on a Privilege 580 , and a Gunboat 55. Both are sailing catamarans.

So happy to see the interior of the boat that sat beside us in Midland. Always good to see how everyone else finds interesting places to store stuff on a boat.

I tend to be a "shove it in the back" person sometimes! But, wasted space bothers me! That closet in the aft cabin is particularly annoying. Glad the wedding went well. I saw a few pics...beautiful!

What a great boat. I love what you did with the cupboard in the galley! We've just moved aboard a marine trader 36 and love it so far. Amazing vessels. Fair winds & following seas to you both☀️

I envy you the extra 2 feet! ;) I bet your boat has a queen size bed on it somewhere?? If you have some photos of yours you'd like to share I'd love to see them. Post here or message me privately if you prefer! Are you planning on Looping? (Sandra)

We do! We lived aboard a tiny sailboat before this and dreamed of a walkaround bed, which we now have! Our boat is the sundeck version, which allows for lots of space in the aft cabin. She's definitely a fixer upper. We will be doing the loop after spending some months on the hard fixing her up. We have a tour up on our channel of her if you want to see! Hope to see you out there one day☀️

@@gothatawaychrisandsandra U may have already searched u tube but if u search reduce chine slap or reduce hull slap u may come across a video where a guy cut a life preserver in half and rigged it so he could place it at the chine water line( half under, half above) and he swears by it reducing chine slap. Also I have read on the hull truth about a guy who created an anti roll device ( heat welded some vinyl together to create a long “bag” (rectangle shape) that he filled with water and placed it high up on his sedan bridge to minimize roll ( from waves, wakes, etc both under power and at anchor) Again, swears by it. I did a bit more searching and found an article written by a woman who coined the term ART ( anti roll tank) as hers was made from metal and had baffles in side of it I can send u a pic of the hull truth post so that u can read up on it if u r interested Cheers

You might see if a Murphy bed would work. It could fold up and out of the way during the day and you might gain additional storage or possibly a sitting area or table desk when up.

Interesting idea. We will add that to the possible solutions.

Install a sider system under the mattress or removable brackets with spacer board so you can pull the mattress away from the wall 😮

That's an interesting idea to get the single out from the little alcove. I wonder if we could do something like that to join the two areas so we could pull the beds together. Chris is the warmest person I know...winter is coming and he is my heater!

Interesting that the showers drain into the bilge, I’ll have to look into that. I’m looking to buy an 85 chb which is nearly identical to yours. How do you feel in rougher water? What’s your comfort cut off for waves? What’s the worst you have been in?
@gothatawaychrisandsandra Жыл бұрын
You will get different answers from both of us! I, Sandra, am not happy in waves of any great height. I'm finding that with the apps, particularly Windy, that I can only tolerate 0.2 meter wave height with at most 0.2 meter surge and that's if it is coming aft or fore beam, but not bang on beam. Those numbers aren't actual wave height...there's some sort of formula about the average of half of them 90% of the time, or something like that. I find with those specs, and the wind not over 12-13 knots that I'm ok. If they hit on the bow, I can tolerate a bit more. We've been in 3 foot (1 meter) waves on the bow and as long as they were occassional with at least 3.5 second period between them, I do fine with that. 3 feet on the beam and we start to tack and I'm not happy. Having said that, Chris doesn't mind the waves. He sailed as a kid so it doesn't bother him. The worst we've been in underway is 3 feet on the beam where we had no choice as we were headed in to a bay or port. When we came in to Mackinac Island we had no choice but to point it in and take it on the beam. Luckily it didn't last long! At three feet in any direction we start to hear the dishes move around. The absolute worst that has hit the boat has been 4-4.5 feet from the wake of an 82 foot Pershing that hangs out on Lake Michigan/North Channel. They can go top speed 48 knots and he was full out. I was not happy. These trawlers were meant to take a beating, just not this woman! ;) As far as the showers...we will re route them at some point. At the bottom of a long list of projects! Good luck with the purchase!

The showers should not empty into the bilge but into the sump box that pumps it overboard. I have also looked into putting queen bed in aft cabin. I do have some photos of someones queens bed conversion if you post an email address, Safe travels and Merry Christmas!

We aren't sure. We can't start down the canals until October 1 (south of Chicago) and then we will have restrictions about how far south we can go during hurricane season.

I don't use anything really. They've loved me since the day I was born. I don't use a lot of products...just a dermatologist recommended scent free moisturizer because of terribly dry skin, and that's recent in the last few years. That's it! I've read that there are simply people who are more appetizing. It's the same with deer flies, horse flies and I'm anaphylactically allergic to wasps, honey bees and other vespids.
