HI Dr. Nhi, I finally got my port installed. That was not fun for a few days. I pray for you and all who have and illness not just cancer. I started the College's piano music (memory) research study for cancer patients. You actually learn to play the piano and read music. It helps with the stress and keeps me busy with my mind. I encourage everyone to find an outlet. Many are at no cost to you. It can be writing, poetry, art, music, gardening, fishing (love) ETC. Try something new that you have never done before. It helps leaves your anxiety at the door while you explore something that makes you feel more in control and positive. Don't give up to misery and to pain. Yeah, it hurts but there are ways to make it more manageable. God Bless Everyone!

As a cancer person - survivor? thriver? Patient? Not sure how best to describe myself - who is engaged in a similar off-label protocol, it’s great to see someone in the medical profession using this approach, since it needs to be more broadly legitimized against standard of care orthodoxy. (My oncologist called me a unicorn for as I continue to do fine with the saliva gland mets that have mostly disappeared from my lungs…..taking many of the same drugs, doing it on my own out of pocket.) Best of luck to you, Doctor, as you continue to fight the good fight and be well!
@NhiTranLee5 ай бұрын
That is wonderful to hear! There are a lot more people with cancer that are doing this and having much success so hearing about your success is very encouraging. What is your protocol?
@timschooley40335 ай бұрын
Sorry I’m just seeing you responded now. I did the Care Oncology Clinic protocol for two years - Metformin, mebenzadole, doxycycline and a statin. I’ve since moved to Meakin Metabolic through which I’m taking the same meds but tapering how much I take them. I recommend Dr. Chuck on this approach. Meakin was the medical director of COC. I also do Claritin, baby aspirin, melatonin and a bunch of vitamins and supplements. A perhaps useful thing to mention: it wasn’t working at first but I stayed with it and kept doing it In conjunction with stereotactic radiation- which seems like it’s been a really effective combination. Hang in there!
@robertbrowning26 ай бұрын
I sent you my protocol and testimonial to your email. 🙂 I have concern that it will be difficult to interpret what is happening with the scan, due to the timing of immunotherapy, radiation, and all the therapies. On immunotherapy, tumors can grow in size at first due to being inflamed by the immune system. If the tumor is removed and inspected, what they see if the cancer mass is replaced by immune system cells. This is why the standard is to wait 3 months for first scan on immunotherapy. Time for radiologic response can be even longer, and it could be 6 months. it’s ideal to time the therapies around the scans, and be consistent between scans.
@NhiTranLee6 ай бұрын
Thank you once again for your generosity. I checked your email and will respond soon. You have a great comprehensive protocol and I am rooting for you! Yes that can happen with immunotherapy although it usually happens in the beginning (pseudo progression). I’ve been on it for over a year now and likely it is not doing anything for me and at the best it may be keeping it stable. I do not want to go back on the oral chemo so I will keep pushing with the alternative things. My thoracic spine MRI I just had showed the epidural lesion is stable but still there. It has only between 4 weeks between the ER visit scan and this one so too soon to get results but I am glad it is stable. Will be able to tell on the next scans end of June how things are.

I'm so glad you cleaned up your diet. You look and sound so much better than a few wks ago. I'm doing the same with no processed foods, cakes, cookies etc. Plenty of fresh veggies, greens. I think the juicing will jack up your glucose levels as it removes the fiber that slows down glucose spikes. I also do the fasting 8 hr eating window and daily exercise. I stopped doing heavy weights that increase muscle size as it jacks up your IGF-1 levels. Everything else I do lowers IGF-1 growth factor, fasting, little or no meat, exercise etc. Eating more oil or fat will help keep wt on and not increase glucose spikes where as eating too much protein and meat (inflammation) will force your liver to turn it into glucose. The bodies preferred fuel. You sure have a great team of support helping you through this struggle on top of all your research. Us regular Joe's would find it impossible getting access to all the Drs and meds that you can. Wishing you and your team all the success in getting things under control.

Strength training is so important for the body. Even light weights will lead to muscle growth but muscle growth is very key in health unless evidence now says otherwise. For women they aren't going to be packing on pounds of muscle so benefits would outweigh any potential negatives of lifting

One more negative on juicing. It's best to drink it fresh right after it's made as juice loses it's nutrients by the minutes or hrs that the gallon jug is sitting in your fridge. Save your money and just order a green juice before your lunch break. The best nutrient that helped me is Lycopene from tomato in sauce or paste. I also use a supplement 50mg from longlifenutri as the cheap Hunt's sauce has 4 gm of sugar so I use one or the other before every meal. Cancer has a problem taking in it's fuel source with lycopene as a blocking agent. Also is in watermelon and red grapefruit. Also eat broc, cali, brussel sprouts and mushrooms every day as they also block the cancer's feeding process. I wish I had your family support like when your mother-in-law and husband fixed all that great food for you when you were feeling too bad to even eat it after the cancer treatments and diet changes. They're a great resource also on a plant based diet. GL

Is surrendering to GOD really that bad? Cancer is his will and healing as well. One should not fear death. Sometimes leaving is better than staying.
@hmgrraarrpffrzz97636 ай бұрын
I think it is bad. I mean, if we look at the universe, it's behaving exactly as we'd expect it to from a universe without deities. It doesn't matter who prays for what. People die or get cured from cancer regardless of the religion or prayers. Nobody gets magically cured from cancer by an angel in golden light or whatever. And that's for the same reason why no amputee ever got their lost limb back after praying. Is that because God doesn't exist, or because God hates amputees? The entire concept of an omnipotent omniscient deity, that inflicts cancer on people, but at the same time is allegedly "good" and "benevolent" just makes no sense. If people who pray would have a much higher chance of surviving, I'd say you have a point. But prayer doesn't work, and there is no good evidence that God exists. Therefor sticking with reason and logic and wisdom to base your decisions on seems to make much more sense than getting influenced by a belief in something that we have no good reason to assume to exist at all.

I think we can surrender to God and at the same time help ourselves. We have to eat, so why not eat something that makes us feel better. We have to continue living, so why not live in a way that brings us better quality of life. I know we will all die some day and there’s no doubt it might be better to die, but as long as God still keeps us here for another day, we have to live it and we have to choose how we want to spend that time. It is suffering whether we quit or whether we keep going. I’d rather keep going. At the end of the day, I know it is God’s will and not mine, and that’s what I pray for.
