Loved the "Starry Night" tangent. The less-than-brilliant (thankfully lost) customer can buy a scarf, even a real silk one, with Starry Night printed on it. The Signals catalog sells wallets, raincoats, and umbrellas with Starry Night printed on it. But you are fine!

I love the purple sweater. It's one of those things where id love to see it in the wild but would never wear it...? Idk. I crochet stuff and hate actually wearing it. Looks cute! But no. Have you ever come across yarn couching? You can see yarn onto fabric instead of going the embroidery route. Sometimes its even as "simple" as doing a zigzag stitch over the yarn. Its not easy. None of it is easy. But you thrive on the not easy! (I had to change up my KZbin viewing so my favorite sewing channel led KZbin to show me you and I've watched a lot the past three days.) Your chaos is just the right amount.

13:06, there's a heart-wrenching scene where the daughter discovers her dad (lower case “d”) is leaving the family and begins packing her things to go with him. At this moment we learn dad was the favorite😔. As he is leaving, the little girl runs and tries to get into the car with him. She pleads to stay with him, but he coldly pushes her away, explaining that he's starting a new life with his new family. It's a gut-wrenching moment, but Mom (capital M) gives her daughter a moment to experience life and then scoops her up, and takes her into the house😮😢

I've been knitting for nearly two decades and crocheting for 7ish years. Yeah, uh... that would be some pretty intense colorworking. Colorworking is my weak point in both, so for me it would not be possible. It MIGHT actually be possible, but holy cats it would probably cost at least $1500. It would take SO MUCH YARN. You could also knit a plain-colored one and do the swirly stars in knit embroidery (which is different than regular embroidery, yes that's all I've got because I haven't picked up embroidery yet and I might even be wrong). Knit embroidery is less stiff than regular and looks like it's been colorworked. BUT to do the whole sweater would still take forever and be super expensive. I think what he really wants is a printed version. (At least that's probably the price point he wants, because I cannot imagine any other version that would not cost at least $1000.

Just a tip from someone who both sews and knits. Knits don't have a weave. I think the terms you are looking for are stitch pattern, knit pattern, or just stitch or knit. I would never have taken on a project like this! I especially like how the purple one turned out.

I'm here to explain shoulder holes! For me, my shoulders being covered is the way to make me warm. Water too cold? Dip my shoulders, tis fine! House is cold? Blanket on my shoulders, perfect! However, I run HOT. I'm that person you freeze second hand to cause you walk past me on New Years Eve right before midnight tolls, and I'm in costume trousers and, not a bra, not a shirt, but what's meant to be a hair bandana over my chest. No blazer, no jacket, I was too warm from just walking But long sleeves and clothes can be so cute! Keep me relatively warm in the winter! But the shoulders are too much. I can never wear thick clothing, cause if I have to move at all I'll be disgustingly sweaty. This helps prevent that, while keeping me decently warm while I'm just sitting down doing nothing. It's the best compromise! Also it just looks good to be fair, interesting cuts are just that, interesting! :D
@loukas249 Жыл бұрын
you should try k-dramas or the untamed, the episodes are long and not too intensive. but personally i really like listening to podcasts while embroidering :) i'd suggest My Dad Wrote a Porno or Welcome to Night vale in that category

Podcasts are The Way, especially for crafting or cleaning. I can knit without looking, but I can't crochet without looking, and I definitely can't sew or bead while trying to watch things! And there are a TON of really great podcasts. Three wildly different subjects: No Such Thing As A Fish (British and hilarious from the folks who do QI), Old Gods of Appalachia (very well done (I was worried, but nah, they nailed it) Southern Gothic historical horror), and Black Box Down (sadly in their last season, but so good) dissecting and discussing airplane disasters (I know, I know how it sounds, but it's really good and diverting actually serves to make everyone I know who has listened LESS worried about flying).

There are definitely embroidered sweaters. You can even make the stitches look like they were knit- this is called duplicate stitch. However, this project would be a ridiculous amount of work and there's no way he would be willing to pay a fair price for your labor. Some people think artists/craftspeople are magicians and like to request ridiculous projects. The best thing to do is run away.
