Stayed at the ' old ' Fortina years ago. They had just gone ' all-inclusive ' and it was one of the best value for money holidays EVER. Went back again the following year. I think they underestimated the costs of all-inclusive because after our second holiday they started charging ' added extras ' for what we got for free. Still think of those holidays with nostalgia.

Interesting! Because thay say its going to be the same old value and value for a top class service, wonder at what cost ?

' Same old value ' ? Unless I get six numbers in the correct order I doubt i'll EVER be able to stay there again.@@EnglishmaninMalta

I stayed there many years ago through my Timeshare. I was on the 5th or 6th floor facing the water. It was great, in the evening I would go out and sit on my balcony and watch all the fireworks in the distance of the different villages celebrity their Festas. Breakfast came with it. Great breakfast also.😊 Beautiful rooms.

@@EnglishmaninMalta it was expensive then. Thank goodness I had a time share. The timeshares are only one or two floors all the rest where for the paying guests.

Hey Steve the boat looks overloaded because everybody has come to one end to disembark. The other half looks empty. And what did you expect to find on a construction site , didn’t you see the red tape around the building? I’m sure that means a No go area.

@@EnglishmaninMalta Steve I do enjoy your videos, I have watched most of them. But there are times where I don’t and that’s when you put the place down for whatever reason. We all know Malta isn’t perfect and neither is the rest of the World , people like to see nice things not bad things.

Hi, i was surprised when they shut that hotel (Fortina) to refurbish it because it was not that old and fabulous inside, had a meal in there a few years back it had 4 or 5 different types of restaurants surrounding the pool area which also had a lot of palm trees and greenery all around it was a fantastic setting, great meal. Next thing shortly after they shut it. I think when it reopens it will be very expensive. Lovely video Steve thanks. 👍🌞

NICE WALK... TO A POINT 😊 Quite a lively area. You're right Steve, Italians 🇮🇹 are a jolly fun bunch, albeit a bit loud 😂. Those 'over loaded' tour/party boats (1:15) do look a bit dangerous - I say 'an accident waiting to happen' 😲. Also, it seems construction workers sometimes confuse "centimetres" with "inches" 😅. THANKS STEVE 🚶 🎥 👏 Cheers 👍 🇲🇹 ♥ 🇪🇺 ™

Born and bred Maltese living in Australia since 1953. On the matter of the overloaded boats coming into shore both the captains and the operating company/s should be heavy fined and suspended from operations. Malta never seems to learn about the correct way of doing things despite the tragedies due to repeated negligence. Lack of law enforcement, blatant negligence for the rule of law and corruption is the order of the day which is one of the main reasons my parents left the Island in 1953.

Hi Steve, Not sure I agree totally. Judging by the Maltese news which I watch daily in Australia there seems to be that “ cowboy mentality “ which I and my family have witnessed during our visits to Malta over the years. My father who was, prior to 1953 customs (Dwajna) cop at the bottom of West Street in Valletta, used to convey to me that the mentality that existed then remains today, in varying degree. A disciplined approach is what’s required as he used to say. I am sure you know what I mean,as you have alluded to this on many of your shows. BTW my parents prior to emigrate to Australia lived in West Street. My mother had lived in West Street all her life up until 1953. Keep up the good work Steve I do enjoy your show. Hope to see you in Malta one day on one of my visits. Paul B
