UPDATE 2/1/2021 - Faulty hiccupping of sensor was resolved by cleaning the sensor which has been a lot better, but still occurs from time-to-time.

Thanks for the update I'm glad I didn't buy it because many people been complaining about the charging after a while and I don't want to pay $60 for a soap dispenser and go through those issues I see that their soap dispenser with the clear bottle seems to have better reviews but I don't like to see the soap when I throw it in the dispenser either so I guess I wait till the make a much better version to this one.

Yes, I hope SimpleHuman hears these defects and fixes them as $55+ for an automatic soap dispenser that may break in a year or two is a steep price.

Just fyi guys, for the lid to stay sealed you need to create a vacuum after refilling it. Press down on the top as you prime the pump a few times and that will create a vacuum seal... Bad design, i know but otherwise the lid just pops up as she demonstrated in the beginning

They are about £70.00 in the UK and mine has packed up just over the 2 year g'tee period. Interestingly, Temu do a simular thing for £6.88 but their requies 4 x AA batteries. But you could buy 10 Temu dispensers for the price of one Simplehuman unit.

How do I fix my soap dispenser? I’ve tried dispensing it with my hand but it won’t dispense a liquid soap. I’ve tried pressing the power button, but no blue or red light lit. Also I’ve tried charging my soap dispenser using included magnetic usb cable, but the blue light is not blinking and it’s not charging at all. It starts dispensing continuously on its own when I plug in the magnetic usb cable to my soap dispenser and stops dispensing when I unplug it.

Thanks for the detailed info on how to turn the dispenser off and on. No instructions came clearly on what red means - off?- or low battery? blinking blue? Anyway, got it as a gift, so if it works, great. If not, oh well….. but thanks!

I have two of these units, one works great, the other I'm going to have to send back to be replaced, it won't power cycle or pump any soap. I like the one that works flawlessly, wish they both did.

I’m glad I’m not the only one that encountered an issue. Makes me hesitant to buy another as I might get a lemon, but I really enjoy the ones that work as designed!

Hello just purchased this exact same unit and received it today from SH but I wanted to ask you Trouble shooting ? from your original last video on this same model as you mentioned something about having 2 - Warranty Replacements on it so was that due to the Charging Port not working or something else? As just curious (Have you ever ran it under water to clean it? As the item states it is 100% Waterproof although there is no charging port cover on this model) So I was just curious if your Replacment Issues were due to the fact that the Charging Port was damaged to from water or was it something else? Any info or feedback you can give me on this ? I would appreciate is as I am debating now if I should have went with the Foaming Model over this one! Thank you, Joe

Hi Joe, unfortunately they did not tell me the cause of the defect. They sent me a standard email and just told me they couldn’t fix it and that a new one was on its way. I doubt my issue was due to water damage as I never got it too close to water or wiped it in the back. One day it just wouldn’t recognize the charger. The second product’s defect was due to the closure of the lid, so not mechanical. Hope that helps with your decision. Let me know if you have any more questions.

I purchased this in Feb of this year and took excellent care of it. Now it suddenly stopped working after only 9 months and no response to charging. I did register to activate 2 year warranty. I contacted Simplehuman for replacement. They only take text inquiries here in Canada. They replied with troubleshooting tips that I have already tried.. How did you get yours replaced??

I let them know I troubleshot everything I could on my end, even with their tips. Tell them you know of others with the same issue and you would like a replacement. Try to escalate to a manager for a call, if you can.

Clean the sensor by wiping it with a cloth and see if that helps. Or try turning it off and on

I’m not sure, i haven’t tried. I did put dawn soap (thicker than the Seventh Generation brand) and it doesn’t spit out as smooth as the other.

so disappointing, it is leaking and works then stops working. I guess its not taking a charge.... hunk of junk! My husband said to order another one .... nope I refuse to replace it after 2 1/2 years for the amount we paid for it. Bleh it was nice while it lasted , I'll move on to something that works without frustrating myself!
