There will always be people who don’t know or understand the love we have for these old cars. I have a 75 Continental, 76 Town Coupe, 73 Ranchero, 79 F150, and a 91 F150, I wouldn’t trade them for a brand new one even if it was throwing keys. Ford's Panther platform came out in 1978 for the 1979 model year and was produced until 2012. I bought mine almost new (it was a demonstrator) in July of 1996 and have owned it for almost 30 years. People thought I was crazy for buying one of those cars. I haven't bought a car in 30 years. They are good cars. Glad your parents are O.K. GREAT VIDEO!

I'm one of those new subscribers who signed up after I saw the accident video. Sorry to see that Lincoln get totaled, but your parents are just fine and that is a good thing. Generally I like older cars that are not turned into "smartphones on wheels" reliant on computers and software that manufacturers want to milk more money out of buyers. Nothing beats a classic vehicle. Have a great day and weeks.

Glad to have discovered your channel even under these horrible circumstances. Glad you parents made it out with little to no injuries. Now that speaks for the car itself! Outdated, I'd say it withstood the test of time. Personally I own and daily drive a 2000 Town Car and it's never left me stranded and any repairs along the way were easy and cheap. I grew up with the 80s generation town cars, crown vics and marquis. I learned how to drive in a 1986 grand marquis station wagon which also got me through school and several more years. Before me it went through my dad and his drunken endeavors 😅. We put that wagon through hell and it never hesitated to start and get us where we needed it to. Goes to show how tough these cars were. Even the newer models were still built well and still several on the road long after they were discontinued in 2011. I feel the same way as your parents. I wouldn't want a newer car. I'd be searching for another Town Car. People will always have their opinions and you know how that saying goes. We know these cars and I hope you all can find another.

I have owned two of the panther platform cars, both Grand Marquis. Those TCs are like elegant tanks and will last forever given proper maintenance. Although i'm saddened by the fact that FoMoCo has stopped manufacturing these cars, I believe that todays new cars are not made nearly as well as the older ones. If they did still make these, their legacy of quality, durability, style, and comfort would be tarnished. So im glad they went out on a good note. Im glad that your parents are doing well, and as long as they physically/mentally able, they should be allowed to drive if they choose. Good video. Your white TC is stunning! Glad to see u taking such good care of it. God bless you and your family.

Tony I am a now a subscriber, and my only regret is I didn't find your channel sooner. Your values are so close to mine. You value family above all, and you are a Ford Family as well! My heart goes out to your parents. They are salt of the earth good people, and they remind me much of my parents. I grew up Ford. My grandfather owned a Ford Dealership in Southeastern Indiana. My father grew up in that environment, and therefore I did as well. My father and I collect and restore classic Fords. We have a 56 Tbird, 69 Mach 1, 64 Galaxie Convertible, 51 Ford chop top, 56 Crown Victoria, and a 48 fat fender. Needless to say I am a Ford addict....lol. When I hear the story of that punk kid it reminds me of the similar situation we went through. You were right when you told me earlier those cops were worthless. After hearing the details of their behavior I was shocked!!!! That clown should have been arrested!!! Please take my advice, and write that impact statement letter to the judge that I suggested to you before. We did, and it made a difference with the judge. This clown needs to pay consequences before I really hurts someone in the future. Take care Tony and best wishes to you, and your amazing family!!!

My brother and i got rear-ended by a drunk driver back in 1978. We were in my mom and dads 77 Mercury Cougar. She hit us hard, and her car ended up about five car lengths ahead of us. She was so obnoxious that every witness showed up in court two years later when our insurance company sued her. She claimed that her brakes went out when we could clearly see skid marks leading up to our car. The judge somehow missed her many excuses, but we prevailed. Your father is a character. He totally reminds me of my uncle Jim, who is 89 years old and is about as down to earth as you can get. I love your cars. Dont listen to what other people say. Thats why their are so many different choices out there.

Thanks for the update. The only Lincoln Town Car I drove was a 88 Limo solid vehicle. Your parents Lincoln always seemed odd to me until you mentioned the interior was two toned and I agree I like your Lincoln with the all red interior much better. If it where me I would look for a 2nd generation Town Car as nice as the 80's are I like the style of the 90 thru 97 Town car better. Best of luck Tony looking forward to your next video, but do me a favor and stop worrying about the haters just delete and block and move on. Trust me its not worth the stress.

Then you all have something to show for what you all have done throughout life. Beautiful cars by the way. Those were some of the absolute best! Great friend of mine had a 93.......next body style, started liking these then when he let me drive it once in awhile. I bought a pretty green 95 In Iowa 6 years ago......miss it alot. Different body......not as classic looking, but still solid and dependable. Wish I had it still. Found one over in Illinois wrecked, 96......guy hit a tree square in the front and totaled it. Was going to use it for a derby. It fired right up with a new battery and still ran great! I love those late 80s Lincoln Town car! I see several around here in the Hannibal area. Hopefully I'll be able to grab one up here before to long ,or another early to mid 90s even. Let all the crap talkers talk. They don't know anything. Last video, I said his brakes didn't fail.......you all know it as well......keep fighting it, get as much as possible with your insurance, hope it works for them!. I’ve never seen any of your videos before, but the video of the aftermath of your folks accident caught my attention. My family has always been a Ford family, my grandfather was the plant manager of the tractor plant in the 60’s and 70’s, my dad was a manager at the Livonia plant. My uncle was at Romulus. I’m so glad your folks came through the accident fine. When I heard the story of all of your high mileage Lincoln’s it made me smile. My grandpa always had a new Continental. My poor dad always wanted one but my mom always said no because even with his discount, they cost more than what they paid for the house. After my dad passed away, I made sure his last ride was in a Lincoln. Our funeral home here in town made sure the hearse was Lincoln. I hope he was happy. I even found a black rental MKZ for myself. When you were discussing replacing your folks Lincoln, I don’t know what made me think of it, but I thought perhaps you should try to find a rare early 80’s Lincoln Town Coupe for them. I dont know if they still exist anymore. I kind of doubt it, but a Town Coupe would start a lot of conversations. All the best to your family, John K.

Found your channel from the accident video and being a car person myself, I have to say I love the looks of the older lincoln town cars and you can not find a car today that would hold up better than the older ones so i completely understand your parents not wanting a new modern car, 75% of them are junk. As far as the video goes, it is your channel you do what you want. I am sure that if your parents would have asked you to shut the camera off you would have with no problem and we never would have known anything, so dont worry about the haters. What matters is how you and your parents feel about it. I am also certain that you were definitely more worried about your parents than the car. The car can be replaced, they can not, but as you stated your channel is a car channel so you showed the car. We saw in the video you didnt go run to the car first and start crying, you ran to your parents and that is exactly what you should have done. Keep up the good work and hope they find another one. Well-loved cars become family. Comparison vs the people isn't the point. Here, it wasn't just your well-loved car...it was your parent's well-loved car. That adds intrinsic value. There's nothing to apologize for, Tony. You know what touches your heart. It doesn't matter if other people don't get it. You do. I have three cars, and they each are priceless. A '77 Mark V Cartier (the Dove Grey Designer Series) that is a twin of the car I grew up in right down to all the same options (Dad bought his new in April 1977, and I was born in July 1978), a '91 Mustang GT hatchback in Titanium Frost with a black interior that is my Dad's, but we share and I picked out new back then and learned to drive on, and Mom's 2008 Mercedes Benz CLK 350 Sport Cabriolet that we bought new in Majestic Black with a black roof and two tone Ash (gray) and black interior. Dad and I share it as well. Mom passed on January 2021, but she rides with me in her car (and goes with me everywhere). When the original '77 Cartier got hit in June 1988, Mom was driving it alone. Thankfully, she was fine and barely felt a thing, but the car wasn't ok. It hurt badly to lose that car, but it didn't get me any less appreciative that Mom was fine. Over the 18 years between that car getting his, and getting my '77 in July 2006 that matched it, I never stopped missing that car, but it was completely separate from Mom being ok then.

As for the 19 year old kid who hit your parents, he should not be driving at all.

Amazing cars... everyone says "they're the same as a Grand Marquis", but they're not...the Grand Marquis didn't get air ride, digital dash, keypad entry, trip computer, on and on till 1992. The Town Car has so many more options. The 89 and older Town Cars are so elegant and graceful. I love the 89 and older starter sound vs the 90+. I daily drive an 03, buy I'd definitely love to find an 86-89 with triple burgundy and crushed velour... top trim!!! Wire wheels...

The '80s full size Lincolns and Cadillacs were some of the best looking cars ever made. I love the Town Cars and Fleetwood Broughams from back then. They had style, class and character. I'm glad your parents are ok and Tony, I cried when you said the TC wasn't going to be fixed. I'd like to see it get fixed, but yet, I understand completely why you and your parents came to the decision you all did.

He never saw your mom and dad. He was totally flying most likely on his phone, and like you said, you just don’t come up to the stop sign. If his brakes were truly out you would take a maneuver to avoid hitting someone, and running off to a field. I’m 20 years younger than Larry, and I’ll be driving my Town Cars and Panther body Grand Marquis in another 20 years. I’m glad I already own the luxo cars I’m ever gonna want to buy. Good luck with your mom and dad’s replacement car. They’re still out there. These cars are really coming into their own, and I just like having a car I can enjoy, and also is increasing in value. if this little 19 year old snot rag really was doing 20 in a 2900 pound car vs the 4000 pound Lincoln, that big Lincoln wouldn't have got topside just from the pendulum effect of the vehicle impact, if anything if he really was doing 20 the car would have ended up in the right hand ditch nose down instead of wheel over roof. its a shame the car that's an ode to gene bordinat's styling is no longer going to grace our roadways. of all the late 70s early 80s full size vehicles, the big three had fantastic offerings, and I've found with your videos and the love you give them has made me love one of each of the cars from the big three.

Thank you for the update. I am sorry everyone got covid, but I am glad to hear everyone is okay now. I do not wish that on anyone. I am glad to hear you are looking for a new Town Car. I did not know what you said about the blue Town Car. That was informative. Things have indeed change in terms of pricing. I know. I am looking for another 1995-1996 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight Regency Elite Series II right now. The current one is in good shape mechanically, it is the exterior paint, the headliner and drivers seat that are in bad shape. It would cost more to get that stuff done than it would be to just locate another one. I am looking all of the United States and Canada. They went up in price too. You will get another Town Car. I look forward to it. I do appreciate you sharing what happened in the accident. Your father was funny. I am sorry about the insurance company. Your parents have every right to be upset. The young man that was in the accident has some learning to do in life. I hope this will be the wake up call for him. I am glad they( you parents) are getting a new Town Car personally. You go with what works. I would not worry about what others say about the Town Car. I am like you I do not want something beat up or rusted out or messed up mechanically.

Hi Tony, Very to see you and your parents are feeling better except for the loss of their beautiful Lincoln. That was such an unnecessary accident, if only the person driving the other vehicle would have thought to go into the field like you said. I don't know what people are thinking when they write rude inconsiderate comments. I was thought, if you can't say something nice, say nothing at all. Again, I met your mom and dad at the Motor Muster and talked to them a while, very, very nice people. I can relate to your parents because I am 75 and my wife is 67 and she drives most of the time. Great hearing from you again. God Bless, Jim E

Hi Tony, Glad to see your Dad up and about and doing well after their ordeal. It always seems to be good people done wrong by irresponsible people. You and your Dad are so right about these Lincoln Town Cars as they were and are in my opinion some of the best built by Ford and good looking as well. I bought a 1989 Mercury Grand Marquis LS 50th Anniversary Edition in January 2022 for $ 7,500.00 with 67,000.0 miles on it in excellent rust free condition. I am the second owner as the original owners passed away and the family did not want it as it was a " Grandpa Car ". I now have 78,000.0 miles on it and it is the most comfortable car I have ever owned. My other two cars are a 1987 and 1991 Ford Crown Victoria station wagons and do not ride as well as the Mercury. Good luck with the car search and hope you all have a better year ahead.

Waiting in a hospital and dealing with an insurance company. I would rather have my teeth drilled than deal with insurance people. Looking at that accident site out in the country with not a soul around I can't help but think of what the odds are that two cars would come together there at exactly the same time. Talk about having bad luck. I hope you will find a replacement that you are happy with. When it comes to riding in comfort on a trip you sure can't beat those big land yachts. The “outdated” car probably saved their lives! The older cars were built like tanks, the newer cars are not as strong and use a lot of plastic including both bumper covers.
