There's only so many times you can ignore the warning signs before you get hit with something really serious like a heart attack, stroke, liver disease, cancer and then your looking at a world of pain and disability at best or the funeral home at worst. He shouldn't be suffering with issues like this at his age!

My legs have been doing this for 2 years doctors don’t know what to do with it . Being a truck driver I’m always sitting up so they pool up constantly now I sleep with my legs above my heart which is hard because sleeping like that gives me panic attacks. I get checked for blood clots twice a year because of it . Best of luck bro

Brother we all are very grateful you’re better. Here is some additional information for you. I’ve seen this in several people that are heavier and at the same time have lower leg swelling issues. It’s caused by a combination of issues all related to your weight. If your lower legs (or other area of your body) become too large to where the blood flow is starting to be compromised the integrity of the skin ( and other tissue) starts to break down. This occurs slowly over time but if it continues then you can develop microscopic damage to the skin allowing bacteria to more easily enter and cause infections. Also the blood vessels inside the lower leg can also become weak and start to leak. Our blood has multiple components that are actually harmful to surrounding tissue if they get out of the vessels themselves. If the cause is not addressed these problems get worse. Again the most common cause is the weight. Getting your weight down and reducing any swelling will help. As long as you don’t have a current blood clot then try using some kind of compression socks and rising your feet often when you sit also helps. We all appreciate you and that you share yourself with us but please get back to focusing on yourself and your health. We all support you and look forward to seeing you doing well.

Unfortunately, I agree. You should analyse your blood. Reasons are always diabetes type 2, compromised circulatory system.....or both. Loosing weight is a MUST now. You should do also a Doppler UV check, to see how bad did it go. You get therapy in tablets (blood thiners). Walking is good therapy, along witth compresion socks and washing and moisturising your legs daily. A cardiologist is the address to go. (Please, forgive my English, it's not my native language).

If I may add. Find a good primary care physician (PCP) and work with them to make a plan of care. Yes, I agree that you may need to see a specialist or two down the road but start with getting established with a PCP first. It’s best to go this route to get the best over care and minimize unnecessary costs and exams. We are all pulling for you brother.

@@NeoTrunks7 note i said a light exercise: he's working 8 hours on his feet, light active range of motion exercises to improve circulation and help lymphatic flow will not hurt him......and will likely help with standing and walking all day (which I will add again, He is already doing) BUT, I agree, always consult your doctor (which he also is, and has not been told to not be on his feet),....

Not sure if you have looked into it, but carnivore would help you a lot. I am about to b 56 and have been carnivore now 2 1/2 years. I lost weight, all my joint pain has gone, and feel a lot younger. I ended up on this way of eating due to calcium oxalate kidney stones. Oxalates are in all vegetables as well as nuts so I no longer have had to deal with kidney stones. I know itr is a lot to give up but after about 3 weeks it gets easier and now I don't crave any of the sugars and carbs I was addicted to before.

Gotta lose weight and get healthy bro. You’re too young to have hypertension and edema already. Heart failure and other cardiac issues could be close behind. I worked with a lot of Doctors and they would always quote us Americans as “when you sit down, you die”. American Heart Association recommends just 30min a day of exercise. Walk down the road or fast paced through a big store. Time to get up bro! The world’s better with you in it! 💪🙌

I had to cut out simple carbs because I developed type 2 diabetes. No pasta, nothing made with white flour, no sweets, and I switched over to eating eggs, meats, nuts, fish, cheese, complex carb vegetables, etc. which more than made up for the the loss of simple carbs. I didn’t really diet just watched what I ate and didn’t overeat but I lost 25 lbs and an inch in the waist without going hungry. Not only that, but my craving for snacks (chips, crackers, etc.) stopped and that helped greatly to stop eating high carb snacks. And I noticed 12 months later that I no longer needed heartburn medicine. That 25 lbs is still gone almost 3 years later, and my A1C went dramatically down.

Now that the redness is gone it looks a lot like mine. I have the bruising feeling too and although mine doesn't swell anymore unless I'm vertical for more than 5-6 hours at a time without laying down or at least elevating my feet, they swell somewhat but not noticeable unless push on skin to check. Mine developed fairly fast and also like I said on my comment yesterday mine developed splotchy red and purple areas on the inner lower calves and the veins raised. They say I have vascular condition or disease too. I'll also be 40 in early December but I'm just taller at 6'5"-6'6" and although I weigh 300 lbs or a bit less you wouldn't think so. When that started I was up to 350 lb at my biggest and was down with my health alot worse at that time the Drs still don't know what was wrong but it sucked and felt like I was dieing. I'm a lot better than I was now. My beetus is controlled and a1c is only 5 something. My BP is usually great and my cholesterol is controlled. I do take meds tho still but I'm weining off them. The weight loss has helped or maybe even the cause I don't know. I'm not gonna start on that tho. I just hope the best for you man. Anyway enough yappin', sorry. Holler at me anytime Jeff. I'm Dustin C. btw. See ya. 🐍🇺🇲

Jeff, please look after yourself. Try your best to eat healthy, make healthy choices…..I’m in the same boat as you, but older. I have found that staying away from all sodas……all sodas are poison. Even the diet sodas……but after I stopped drink all sodas, it help with my vascular issues. It didn’t cure them, but I diminished my swelling and helped with water retention. I’m 61, way over weight, but this has helped put me on a path of having better health. Treat your body with respect and feed it the healthiest foods you can. May God help you establish some new habits. All the best to you my friend. -Steve, Ohio

My legs look like that with the brown freckling too, and I had/have some edema off an on in the past for many years. It got really bad when I was working out heavily, especially in my knees, feet, and ankles. It all started back when I became an author, and I was sitting around all the time writing. The only exercise I got was when I went to the gym. The rest of the time I was always sitting. I know I need to get out and walk around more, but it's tough to break yourself out of a routine you've become accustomed to. Glad it wasn't cellulitis or anything like that. Cellulitis sucks.

I can't stress enough how much Wegovy has helped me for weight loss and my overall health. Dramatic changed my appetite and really helps me stay controlled with cravings and overeating. I'm at the point now where food isn't really even on my mind and I don't rely on it as an emotional comfort tool anymore either. Highly recommend you look into it and maybe consult your doctor about it. Amazing how so many health issues are really attributed to obesity. It basically has the same effect as gastric bypass surgery without the surgery. Less appetite, eat less, stomach shrinks, lose weight.
