Looking forward to following your big trip....the most difficult part is making the decision to do it, looks like you are well past that stage..well done you will have a fabulous time. I did a similar trip when I was 25..

Thank you so much! I agree about the decision being the tough part. The last few weeks have been stressful in the sense that I have handed in my notice for work and started arranging fundraising for GOSH, as I am acknowledging that I am actually doing it haha, but I am really excited at the same time! Ah amazing that you have done something similar in the past! Where did you go? :)

Looking forward to following along with your trip. I am currently looking at the same trip to do in 2026. I've been saving for the last year so two more to go and its goodbye job and the UK. What sort of figure are you thinking of money wise for your trip?

That's great to hear mate! Time will go by quicker than you think :) if you still want to go by then, then you know it's important to you! Well I have more saved than I was hoping to spend, I'm hoping to be able to budget about £500 a month? Obviously some months will be more and others less. I'm also considering the idea of stopping and working for a few months here and there as a tutor, which shouldn't be too difficult as I am a qualified teacher. I don't plan to save a ton during those times, but it will be a cheap way to have a bit of a rest haha!

@Geocycling1993 Thanks for the reply. I have been wanting it for the past three years already, but I had a ton of stuff to sort before I could start to save seriously. After saving for the past 11 months with all going well and on track I know I will be heading off soon enough. The idea is to have enough to leave my job, travel for up to a year and return to find a new job to see me through to retire. I will be 50 when I go. Its crazy just how cheaply you can live on a bike and travel. I sub you and have watched your previous videos so I am looking forward to following you along when you leave sir. Haha.

No problem :) Ah that make sense! It will be pretty liberating to go for the year on your bike knowing you are financially independent. That was a big part of why I became a teacher was that I could source work abroad in the long term, which is comforting. Where are you thinking of cycling from and to? Thank you for watching my videos and subscribing :D

@Geocycling1993 Yes you have a good career to work any where, especially when you reach Asia. I will go from Plymouth to Santander then down then middle to Cadiz so I can go and see friends in Lanzarote. Then back to Cadiz and along Southern Spain to Barcelona, across Italy to Crotia then head South East ways. But the plan is really to have no plan as the only time limit will be visas. 👍

That sounds like a really cool route through Europe! I think it's a good idea to be flexible as it will make it feel a lot more enjoyable as you won't have targets in your mind that you will be trying to achieve! On top of that, it is all so unknown and new that making rigid plans must be almost impossible haha! Keep me posted with your plans and let me know when you decide to head out :) until then, I hope you have a nice Christmas break! 🎄

Thank you so much :) I'm happy you have enjoyed the videos so far! I will be making an Instagram account alongside some other social media accounts for the trip. Once they are all sorted I'll do a short video with all of them linked in the description :)
