I swear I heard someone say not too long ago that jsrf has like no knowledge on its development, you're doing God's work.

I'm trying my best 🙏🏼🥲 The making of this game is truly a mystery on so many levels.
@GSEleven Жыл бұрын
I can vouch for that as I heard the same thing like a year or 2 ago. There was a video covering some kind of game file viewer, the was uploaded not too long after I heard it. Sad to hear that's still the case.

Thank you so much! In these troubling times JSRF has still had a place in my heart. Keep up the great work brother!!!! I can’t wait to see what’s next!

This game definitely changed my life to say the least... I am a DJ because of this. It is interesting to see what tracks people connected with the most because they are not even the ones id listen to during gameplay, though i agree with the opinions of the masses when it comes to those particular tracks. Till this day my background is a graffiti soul lol. My turntables that i perform turntablism with also has been designed to have elements of the masterpiece. I will always tell stories of this masterpiece. I could literally go on and on about it and like others i wish i would have been able to be a part of your creation as well. Thanks for the contribution and doing it proper justice. I look forward to your future work.

I'm replaying JSRF with my kids in anticipation of Bomb Rush Cyberfunk. It's as good now as it was over 20 years ago. It's still one of my all-time favorite games.

There were some JSR fans that used to hate on JSRF the same way Transformers fans used to hate on Beast Wars. Gatekeeping sucks. lol

Oh dang I’m in this video lol. I might get that as a sticker: “The Godfather of Jet Set Radio Content”. That’s good! Hope the series goes well; I do want more JSR stuff uncovered, especially info about Typing Jet (but that might be only for me and like 5 other people lol) The Concept of Love podcast would be cool actually
@kayisthey Жыл бұрын
lmao I actually have a video project about Typing Jet in development; it's gonna be really fun! I fell down a rabbit hole working on my next video and uncovered some interesting (smile)bits about Typing Jet. Def gonna ask Ueda-san about it down the road. Maybe I can interview you for that one after I get it more solidified!

Mannnn!! I wish I was subscribed to you earlier. Knowing that anyone could talked about the game and how it influenced everybody. I would absolutely love to talk about my literal favorite game. Seriously once again thank you for this documentary. I probably watched it about 4 times and I know those are rookie numbers lol but there is only so many times I can cry lol. A happy cry of course

Never heard of this channel till now. I am liking a video which is an update to a video I havent seen. But I am here. I am subscribing. I like what I see. Thanks for making a video about JSRF. I am going to look through and see if you have one about the first one, JSR/JGR. I've had too much coffee, good morning!

Dude I gotta say thank you so much for making this documentary about jsrf! I just got into the series myself and already love the aesthetics and dedication that this community has for these games. I loved learning about it and I hope to see more from you and more projects insipred by this series. Thank you!

@acebats Жыл бұрын
Looking forward to follow up videos in the series, if you're going to talk about fan-projects inspired by JSRF, I really hope you look into "Jet Set Radio Festival" by Lakuza, its a VR Chat world complete with Rival Challenges, graffiti and soul collection set in an expanded Shibuya Terminal, in my opinon it might be one of the best projects I've played that not only captures the feeling of JSRF, with the expanded Shibuya feeling like it could've come from an alternate JSRF but also captures the pure joy of exploration that I've previously only really felt playing the original JSRF. Excited to see future videos!
@kayisthey Жыл бұрын
Thanks! That VR Chat world is truly mind-blowing 🤯 I def gotta include that!!

I'm glad there will be a potential follow-up. Your documentary was very thorough but I feel there still is much to talk about. I was wondering why Bomb Rush Cyberfunk wasn't mentioned considering they got Hideki to do the soundtrack and is basically Team Reptile's way of taking matters into their own hands. I wish I would have found out about this years prior when you intially sent out the beacon in search of other like-minded people. I would've loved to contribute to the project in some way. Let me know if you're looking for help, another pair of eyes, or a second opinion!
@kayisthey Жыл бұрын
Hey! Thanks for the feedback. I originally had a whole segment focusing on BRC and Team Reptile but once they declined to be interviewed I decided to skip it and strictly have that video focus on JSRF. I might do a brief video about BRC later on.

I was wondering whether you'd touch on Bomb Rush Cyberfunk. I understand though you not wanting to overhype and mention any potential spiritual successors to JSRF before seeing it in action. I know back in the day I got extremely hyped when Hover was in development but feeling underwhelmed by the actual experience.
@kayisthey Жыл бұрын
Oddly enough, I tried to have an entire bit of MJSRF focused on BRC but when Team Reptile declined to be interviewed, I decided to hold off and talk about it in a later video. It will probably come up as a topic in a video focusing on projects inspired by JSR/F. ✌🏼

I hope they port jsrf to modern systems at the very least so I don't have this hopeless feeling like its existence is hinging on people emulating it or busted copies of it existing on Ebay.
