Absolutely agree. I had an interview with the company and I had to opt out from the process. The more I saw how much it was being overdone, the more I got put off from working for them.

Were I a young learner of the age and type I typically meet as an online teacher for another company, I'd be intimidated, possibly even terrified into silence by this level of intensity. I'm super enthusiastic and use tons of TPR when I teach my young Chinese students, but if I were to take it to this level of unwavering (and unvarying) volume and tone, at the very least they'd detect and be turned off by what would seem a lack of authenticity. I work with regular students who know me well; I understand that ME teachers are meeting new students every day. Thus they're required to adhere to a set of standards and uniformity of delivery in representing the company, but still....

I've never had a teacher who taught me this way even when I was 6. I've never, as a teacher, taught this way. Is this for babies and toddlers or for clowns who wanna join a circus. I mean, seriously, how can a school kid take this seriously?!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♂️

Magic Ears is unprofessional. They do not acknowledge, take accountability for, or attempt to solve technical glitches on their platform. I have a Master’s in Teaching English and over seven years of experience. I passed my demo and one on one training easily. The ONLY thing I was told to improve on for the trial class was my background. My trial class started, and the platform began freezing as soon as I gave my first trophy. I tried pushing restart; it did not help. I tried contacting my success manager; they did not get back to me until long after my trial class was over. When my success manager got back to me, he refused to even acknowledge there was a technical problem. I also have a computer that meets all required specifications, and my computer was plugged into the modem with an ethernet cord.

@@TeacherPRU616 it went very well my interview was not with children the interviewer will act like a child use alot of TPR, have lots of energy and use props I used hand puppets print outs and even drew my own props😊

Magic Ears is unprofessional level trashy. I went through the hiring process was shocked by the quality of trainer: Alex Xerath. This "trainer" immediately had a trashy and distracted demeanor. Our short time was full of eye rolling, rude behavior and extreme facial expressions of annoyance from his part. I have years of experience working with Disney and online ESL companies, never have I seen so much unprofessionalism and disrespect. Even my interview at Denny's when I was 16 years old was more professional and respectful than this.
