YES!!!!!! Someone with oily skin that shares dilemmas of so many of us. The amount of dinero I have spent trying to find the right product is absolutely ridiculous. I just replaced everything. I am at home recovering from my 4th. surgery after breast cancer diagnosis. I am literally spending my days learning about make-up. Thank you so much for all this great information. I have to say something about spf products in general. It's said that to achieve the rated spf you have to use a certain amount of the product. Some ppl say 2 fingers for the face (not including the neck which one shouldn't forget) but there's a way to calculate the right amount for your face bc not every face is of the same size obviously. So the pea size you use is by far not enough to get the spf of 30. Maybe you already know but I wanted to let you know in case you didn't.. for a long time I wasn't aware as well but if you make the effort and use spf you should use it the correct way to really be safe :)

Hi, Yes you are right, no where near enough spf, you must use at least a 1/4 teaspoon for face and neck to get the stated spf level and re-aplied every 2 hours

What I did was buying one of those baking measurement scoops and use the smallest (1 ml or 1.25 ml depending on the brand) to measure the amount I need to use on my face 😊

I must say, I’m a ☀️ sunscreen junkie! And I’ve used them all and in my opinion the best one is Ultraceuticals 50+ Protective Daily Moisturiser, it’s absolutely beautiful, it feels just like a Moisturiser, it comes in a Mattifying for oily skin, hydrating for dry and a standard 50+ 😊

I also swear by Ultraceuticals and it’s also an Australian brand. The SPF 50+ is currently being reformulated. Another awesome sunscreen is the Mecca Mineral Gel Cream SPF30 which is also being reformulated. Dermalogica has outdated filters. Dr Dray doesn’t recommend Dermalogica.

I use baby bath and bar soap on my sponges. I put a little baby bath in a bowl with water, put the sponges in and squeeze them to soak up the water and baby bath, then I leave them in the water for a little while. Not long though. Then i squeeze and squish them in the water, then take them out one at a time and rinse the baby bath and water, then use a bar of soap on each one. I squeeze out all the water, wet the bar soap, rub it on the sponge, run the sponge under water, and do that several times until the sponge is filled with soap suds (That part is hard to explain how I do it, I rub the soap on, run water on it, and do it over and over until there is suds all inside the sponge. The water kinda runs the suds through the sponge rather than it sitting on the outside of the sponge if that makes sense..... but it works) Then squish and squeeze the sponge with the soap suds in it, then rinse. Mine all come clean. Even my pink ones, I have a light yellow beauty blender that is the hardest to clean but it always comes clean. I have to wash it more times than the others. My actual beauty blenders are the hardest to clean..... that's long, and like I said hard to put in words how I do it. But hope you can make sense out of it and hope it helps.

For most sponges it'll work to scrub them against a bar of soap under running water. Then squeeze out and repeat as necessary.

The loreal has replaced my shape tape! Cheaper, easier to get, and like you said it's not as drying. The ELF camo concealer is a good one too. To me it's more like the shape tape, it can be a little drying. But it dont move! Dries matte. I have to set everything, even the loreal one. But I dont have to set the ELF one.

I tried a sample from Sephora last week. I'm combo, wore it with no primer for 4 hours, and did not get oily at all. however, the dry parts of my face were not happy, and it smelled strongly of paint. I liked the finish, but it was very hard to remove; had to do a double cleanse, and I kept smelling the paint-like smell all night. I'm not going to buy it, but it sure kept the oil off

Half of your favourites are also my favourites of the year :D I also discovered a sunblock that I really love as well that costs the fraction of many others and actually makes my makeup last longer: Sunprise Mild Airy Finish by Etude House (SPF50/PA+++). I reapply sunblock in powder, which is also a new discovery. I use Sunkill powder by Catrin, but I have not yet used it long enough to make up my mind fully. It does not break me out and works fine as a touch-up powder.

ALSO @Emily Doong is correct - whatever SPF anyone uses, the correct application amount (according to the FDA) is 1/4 of a teaspoon to your face to ACTUALLY get the SPF coverage. Coola has a lovely mineral SPF 50 sunblock that dries down nicely and does not leave a caste at all. Remember 1/4 of a teaspoon of product =SPF coverage.

Another good primer to test out is the Milk Hydrogrip Primer. It hydrates the skin, smooths texture, and minimizes pores. It doesn't make me oily and makes my makeup look fresh and amazing for a longer period of time! I love the Hourglass Mineral Veil but the Milk Makeup primer has completely replaced it for me. Total game changer!

Try the Image skincare prevention+ daily matte moisturizer SPF 32+!! It is more on the pricey side but I think it's really worth it! I also have really oily skin and always used moisturizer and primer etc. but never had this good of an experience. Now I only put this under my foundation. You will receive best results if you don't let the moisturizer to sink in but go straight over with foundation. The cream will set with the foundation and it won't move all day long. Also I feel like there is no flashback. Would love to see your review on this!

I live in Louisville Kentucky USA I use the concealer everyday and I love it. It is completely sweat proof. Its amazing under the eyes and as an eyeshadow base for me as well

I love your videos! I also have oily acne prone skin! I used to avoid using sunscreen anywhere on my body but it's an absolute must because I use physical and chemical exfoliants. Most of us don't use near enough sunscreen and especially to our face. It tends to cause breakouts or leave a thick white tint on our skin which messes with our foundations. I was shocked to find that the proper amount is 1/2 teaspoon. Just an fyi to all....:)

So, what if you have done all these steps and still suffer seperation and caking during the day? Like, max 6 hours of wear before it's a mess. I do use the NJC powder, which helps a bit but after several hours my oils just destroy everything. I'm so beyond frustrated at this point 😟

I was using the fenty foundation and primer. But it still was breaking up and wearing off around my nose. I just tried the double wear foundation with smashbox new oil control primer... omg the combo it epic. I slept in it expecting an oily mess when i woke up. Was still nearly perfect.

try using more of the powder, either by baking, or layering after skincare and on top of everything- so 2 layers of the powder. maked sure to also consider aa setting spray and make sure your skin is well hydrated and that all products on the face are compatible.

I'm sure you tried everything, but if you haven't tried the Becca Ever Matte primer, you must! It's for the oiliest of oily skins and it really works! I pair that with the new Smashbox foundation lately and even in the sweaty summer heat, my oils stay trapped under there and I'm honestly shocked how well my makeup stays in place.
