A Hobby-Grade TX makes so much difference with these Micro Aircraft. I've never understood why they constantly come up with a different protocol. Thanks to the programming gurus at Multi-Module we can fly these with a much better TX. See you in the Air!

Hey Tony. Thankyou so much for this. I have added it to my Tx16s and hope to try the heli out tomorrow. It may be a little bit too windy though here in the UK but I'll get it in the air as soon as I can. I swapped a couple of functions. Put the Stop function on SF as that is my go to for arming/disarming and set SH as a latching switch for OKTL. Fingers crossed it works. Once again, may thanks for your support.

Finally I was able to configure this heli on my TX16S with EDGE TX 2.7.1 based on your guidance (I changed from opentx 3 weeks ago). Edgetx is almost the same as opentx with touch screen and faster development cycle (maybe you should migrate as well :). My channel order is AETR, but looks okay. First I tried the heli inhouse, almost cut my wife's head... fortunately this is small heli :) Then I tried outside and all work perfectly. Also I like the BIND function, I’m also lazy, and was angry always if I had to bind with pressing the bind button at my first plane Eachine P51 Mini (you might remember you helped me out at that time as well :). So, many thanks for your committed work!! 👏 Greetings from Hungary! 🙂

Thanks for your video Got the E120 today and set the TX16s up after your video. I didn't try the bind switch because I found that the heli will bind itself if you turn on the transmitter after the heli. The only important thing here is that the trims of Nick, Aileron and Yaw are on neutral and throttle on zero.

Bonjour, avez-vous réussi a paramétrer le modèle car moi je suis en mode 1 et j'ai un problème de au niveau de la voie 5 . j'active l'interrupteur le moteur démarre mais irrégulièrement puis il s'arrête au bout de 10 secondes et si je rebascule l'interrupteur dans l'autre sens il fait pareil. Je n'ai pas paramétré la vois 16 car il se bind dès que la radio s'allume. Merci pour votre aide. Cordialement

I found that putting a piece of black insulation tape over the optical sensor give a much smoother flight , without all the onboard corrections.

I’m getting a Boxer. Don’t think your File for 16XS will transfer in. Heard of issues. This makes my head swim a bit. Have to Zoom TV to even see written info on paper. Did you do an Initial Setup video on the Radio for this Model. I have the model, been flying a week on the Junk Radio Eachine provides. Gimbals are terrible, especially the Cyclic side. Too touchy and my inputs don’t translate out to what I’m inputting. 🥺🙄. Lots of times it starts going the opposite direction then catches up. 🙄

Have you upgraded to edgeTX over OpenTX and bound this heli? I know all the new TX16s's radios come standard with edgeTX now and I can't get it to bind with protocol E129 running the latest EdgeTX firmware as of today.

I'm still using OpenTX as from what I've read it's a bit more stable. I've bound up with the Eachine E120 and E110 using the E129/C186 Protocol. Are you also up on the latest release of Multi-Module?

Absolutely! Just change the Protocol and make sure the channels are in the proper order and you should be good to go. I use this same profile on the Eachine E110.

Welcome back to the Hobby! If you're not seeing the proper SubProtocol you probably need to update the Multi-Module Firmware. The Transmitter consist of (2) Firmwares - The OpenTX or EdgeTX Firmware and then the Multi-Module Firmware. Here is some info on the Protocol and hopefully some links that will help answer some questions. For the E120 Heli: The Protocol is E129 and Sub-Protocol is C186 This is the link to the Multi-Module page for the Protocol Info: www.multi-module.org/using-the-module/protocol-details/e129 The Minimum Version of the Multi-Module Firmware to support this Protocol / SubProtocol: Firmware Version: v1.3.2.6 I hope that helps.

I get a lot of questions regarding how to use our OpenTX and Setup Files so I make a Video Tutorial on how to use them. I followed the screen shots as best I could and it binds up no problem but once I do the OKTL it veers uncontrollably to the left as if I’m putting left Ail. (Maybe I’m mapping it wrong?) Where can I get the pdf? Do you have a Patreon? And I can’t get the emergency stop to work lol luckily I haven’t broken or lost anything yet.

@@wj625 There's no setup PDF file for this one as I performed no adjustments on it just TX programming. Here is a link to the Multi-Module info for the e129 Protocol. www.multi-module.org/using-the-module/protocol-details/e129 The problem might be your channel order as my TX is setup for TAER by default whereas most people use AETR as their default. My guess is you need to change the channel order AETR. I have the Emergency Stop mapped to my Momentary Switch. www.patreon.com/groundcontrolrc

I use OpenTX Companion to program the Transmitter using the computer. It is easier for me using the computer to perform the programming rather than the transmitter. Hi, thank you for an excellent set up video. I have followed your instructions with my own TX 16 S and C186 pro helicopter. Everything is working great, even though I have changed some of your switch settings to suit myself e.g. the take off and landing switch is on switch SE , while the binding switch is on switch SD. I also had to flash my multimodules firmware to the newest stable version. However, I am finding that I have to still open the model settings page to bind the model to the radio each time I fly. Is this normal? Cheers

Thank You! I use the Bind Switch I have setup to bind to the Heli each time. It works on mine so I don't have to go into the setting page to perform bind. If I remember correctly, that is setup on Channel 16.

Hi, so after update on module I have all the correct protocols ( good tip a new V2 Jumper Lite with very old flash) . Now my next question , hope you can help . Eachine do not ship the BO-105 to New Zealand, but Aliexpress ship this one . C186 2.4G RC Helicopter 4 propellers 6 axis electronic gyroscope for stabilization, air pressure for height vs C127 RC Drone. Do you know if this is a clone/ compatible Heli ? . Hi Alan! I can't answer that question with absolute confidence. I believe since the Sub-Protocol is listed as C186 it would be compatible but I'm not positive on that. I thought I had read somewhere the only difference between the Eachine E120 and the C186 was the C186 did not have the Optical Flow Position Hold but I thought it used the same Protocol. I didn't do any research on the C186 since I was setting up the E120.

Hi I have both the E120 and C186 they both look the exactly the same just C186 has no optical flow sensor in the bottom. I’m going to ad FPV to the C186. Thanks for the tx16s setting had to scan ge to AETR but after that worked great. Not got the bind on switch working yet but will have more of a play with it too Work and thanks for the video

Hi David! No, as mine has always worked. It could be a bad switch or somehow the programming has gotten changed? I would check the output of the switch in the programming screen to see what it's sending.

Hi! The reason I provide the screenshots of OpenTX Companion is that they are easier to see and provide more detail than images of the TX Screen. I also provide the OpenTX Model File on our Facebook Page so if you import that into your Transmitter you'll be able to see everything on your Transmitter instead of just screenshots. @@GroundControlRC Ok had the EDGE TX Boxer two days now. Hours on end programming the setup. Watched 4 key videos while doing it. Worked all the way through today to getting Companion and TX Flasher Tool. Pulled down the Firmware in Companion and the latest Flasher bootloader. I had my BO-105 built in the radio, but only shows Multi E128. No Sub selection below that. I Read the Radio into Companion and. Opened up Edit on my Model. There it Does show the Sub with C186. So I Wrote that back to the Radio. No difference in radio. No Sub Selection showing. Other Protocols due have Subs. This is EdgeTX instead of OpenTX. Wonder if that is the problem. Or this Status it shows under Type E129. Status V1.3.3.7 AETR CH Range CH1- 16 Receiver 00[Bnd] [Rng] Does that V1.3.3.7 need updated? Whatever that is. Is that The Internal Module Version? 16 hours work and No Joy. Everyone I’ve seen Bind to these were all OpenTX, Not EdgeTX. I currently have a useless Radio. Can’t Bind to my 2 E129 Helis. 🤔🥺 Can I get Support from Radiomaster on this?

@@doublediamondrailroad5949 Hum, I'm not familiar with EdgeTX other than it's supposed to be the Cutting Edge of OpenTX ;-) There are (2) parts to the Firmware on my Radio with OpenTX. The OpenTX Firmware and the Multi-Module Firmware. The number, such as the V1.3.3.7, you listed is the minimum level of the Multi-Module Firmware you need for that Protocol. I'm not a radio expert but that's the way I understand it.

Really appreciate your guide here! Great work. I popped in your otx file, but for me to get it to bind, I turned on TX, turned on Heli, pulled the SE switch towards me, and it just sat there blinking rapidly. Until I raised the THR to max and back down, then it bound up. Also odd, upon moving sticks, there is Ail movement when moving right TX stick right and left, but no ELV movement when moving right TX stick up and down. The ELV now seems to be on the right TX Throttle stick.....Again, I used your OTX file. Shouldn't the right TX stick up and down control the heli swash plate?? I am confused. Thx!

Thank You! I'm using a Mode 2 TX so that's how the Model File is Setup, and yes, the Elevator and Aileron should be on the Right Stick. The Throttle and Rudder on the Left Stick. If you're using something other than Mode 2 you'll have to adjust the setup for your Mode. The Switch for Bind needs to be moved Forward and then Back to complete the Bind. It works like an On/Off Switch. The Protocol used can also change things. The Protocol I'm using is e129 / c186.

@@GroundControlRC Interesting. I am also using US version of TX16s Mode 2 AETR with latest stable OTX and MM protocol, using E129/C186 protocol . I have the Orange C186/BO105, maybe the boards are a bit different? I also noticed in your OTX file you have Inputs/Mixes Ch1-Ch4 as Thr, Ail, Ele, Rud which is TAER. I think that may be causing some confusion with my AETR radio. I dunno? Will play some more over the holiday. Happy holidays to you!

@@dsarnson Yes, the Channel Mapping is used on mine since TAER is the default Channel Order for my TX. Perhaps the Channel Mapping is disabled on yours? Sometimes I'll reorder the Channels on mine to match the Protocol and disable Channel Mapping. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
