A bit about the song... I wrote it during a period of a lot of self hate. Not being happy with how I look, how I act.. just being very self conscious. I was really pissed off at myself for this, and this song came out of me. In the end of the day, it's important to recognize when you're lying to yourself. I wrote all my lies down in this song, and it was liberating. I implore you all to write down the lies you tell yourself and own them, so they can stop owning you.

It's been a crazy month. I just moved countries for the first time in my life which has been extremely stressful and scary, but exciting. But beyond my own life, everything that's going with BLM in the middle of a global pandemic. I've been having a hard time finding the right words to say about everything. I've been trying to internalize it all and reflect on how I can become part of the solution instead of being part of the problem. For now all I want to say is, Black Lives DO Matter. I know a lot of people want to respond with all lives matter or bring up other issues, but I just want you to think about that before posting it. No one is arguing that all lives don't matter, but humanity needs to focus on specific issues at a time, and right now the focus is on the injustice of Black Lives and we need to empower it as much as we can. You can still care about other issues whether thats other human races, climate change, animal welfare, gender inequality, LGBTQ, COVID 19 etc, but please, don't diminish THIS issue right now by comparing it to others. Be considerate, and if you don't know what to say, then think about what you do, think and say in your daily lives and how that might be aiding discrimination against black lives. If you catch yourself saying, 'I think this, or I say this, but I am not a racist' then you already know there's an issue there, own it, and change. The only way to move forward is to know that you've messed up. That's all for now. Hope you're all safe, sane and understand what I'm trying to get across here. Love you all and we will all get through these tough times together.

Dude. This hit so close to home for me. I've struggled with major depressive disorder and went through quite a bit of treatments trying to find anything that worked. I can't believe so much of my problems came from me undermining my self worth. This song makes me reflect on how I've been changing myself for the better. Know that you're worth fighting for and that this song is going to reach so many people and make them realize they aren't alone in their problems with loving themselves. 💜

As someone who's gone through mental and emotional abuse, and has been so deep it felt easier to just swim down or give up, this hits pretty damn close to home. I was very depressed and ready to end everything. Having been mentally and emotionally abused by my teacher (4th grade). I used to lie a lot so my mother didn't believe me. I ended up always in trouble at school, so I'd be in trouble at home. Having nobody to turn to I just continued this self destructive behavior, because I was always in trouble at home so I caused trouble at school, and it was just an endless cycle of misery. There wasn't anything I could do. If I tried to talk with someone about it, they'd think I was making it up to get out of school, or because my mom was disciplining me for bad behavior and I didn't like it. Eventually I turned to cutting and I started missing school. I fell behind and eventually wanted to take my own life. My mom found out and pulled me aside and I got to finally talk with her about what was going on, and things got better. So, even if you're at a low point in your life now, just know that it'll always get better.
