Met a girl for the first time while she was getting a tattoo. She was there with a friend (he was super gay), and I had to try real hard for about an hour to make conversation. Ended up talking with the off duty artist about Celtic Culture. Next thing I know I'm playing my bagpipes for him, and then from there I was asked to help perform a 9/11 memorial service on the fly (I totally forgot it was 9/11 that day). Really heartfelt night, it was great fun except the date, that girl was boring as fuck.

Woman I worked with gave me her daughters number and said messages her as she thought I was hot , talked to her for a bit over txt decided she wasn't for me from what we spoke about told her next day I wasn't feeling it she reacted like I ended a 10 year perfect relationship for no reason....I didn't dodge a bullet that day I dodged a fucking nuke

I hear you, in regards to dodging a nuke! I was engaged to a guy that I'd been with for 14 years. I had set a date for us to be married and said we needed to tell his parents, who can be difficult. He wanted to talk to his uncle (his dad's younger brother) for advice on how to tell his parents we were getting married. Dude calls me, tells me he spoke with his uncle, and his uncle advised him to not get married. I told him we could elope and that would take the pressure off!?! He said he absolutely did not want to do that. "Okay. It was just a suggestion...what do you want to do?" "My uncle advised me not to get married." I'm thinking, 'Do you have a brain that's connected to your spine? I didn't ask what your uncle advised you to do!' SO I said again, "What do you want to do?" He said, "Well I don't think I want to get married and I definitely don't want children." I said, "Not with me, or in general?" "In general." I, needless to say, got upset and he fussed out, "I can't talk with all these emotions!" I yelled, "FINE! Bye!" And hung up on him. I got to thinking about it and realized how much of a jerk he had become and how much he'd started acting just like his mother, who is Satan's mistress. After that fight, I felt like a tremendous weight that I didn't even know was there had been lifted off my shoulders! He, of course, didn't have the cojones to "officially" break up with me, so I sent him an email and told him I was done. Now, I'm walking on sunshine!!! LOL! Best of luck to you!

I went to dinner with a customer I met at my grocery job. He gave me a speech about how smoking was bad for me. Then told me about how much pot he smokes. He said he had just gotten out of the hospital after his third sui... .cide attempt. I changed the subject by asking about his cat.....he always bought just three cans of cat food when he came through my check lane at the store. He told me he didn't have a cat. He just bought it because he wanted to talk to me, and he thought I might be someone who liked cats. I put my money on the table and left. A week later he was at my store again. He went through a different lane, and was chatting up the cashier. When he left, I went to warn the girl. I asked what he bought. Three cans of dog food.

My sister is a dating disaster. She cheated for attention and started shooting meth at fifty resulting in hep c. She only talks about her problems and her ex husbands. I met a girl for a first date and we ended up back at her place late afternoon. Her housemate was around and we all got to chatting. Was generally pretty good conversation until she stated talking about her ex. They had been broken up for a month. She spoke about him for a solid 30 minutes. I basically found out everything about this guy in that conversation. You could tell that her housemate was also like "wtf stop admiring your ex in front of a guy you've only just met". After she was done I made excuses to leave and I left, thinking I wouldn't see her again. To my surprise she send me a text saying "hey, I had a great time tonight. I really like you and i want to see you again, however if I don't like how many jokes you make."

Can't stand going out to eat with someone and they don't eat. It's incredibly rude. I don't care if you aren't hungry, you still order something and at least go through the motions. Why? Because the other person feels rushed and awkward if they are eating and you're just sitting there with an empty table in front of you. If you know you aren't going to want to eat, then arrange to meet somewhere else. Sorry, just a huge pet peeve of mine.

An acquaintance begged me to meet her cousin. I finally agreed to meet him for coffee. He showed up in dirty orange pants, red jacket, purple baseball cap and scuffed work boots. I thought, maybe he is a good guy so I waved and he clomped over. He sat down and smiled...with his brown teeth...all four of them. Oh and he was really really dumb. I finished my coffee, left and he called me every 5 minutes for the next few hours. I ended up having to change my phone number, pre cell phones so he started writing me whiny lovesick letters. Fast forward a couple of years and I’m living with my new husband, spot him in the grocery store, avoid contact and drive home. Five minutes after I get home, half an hour away from the store, he drives into my driveway. My husband goes out and asks him what he wants and his eyes got big and he jumped back into his car and raced away. From then on he would turn away if he saw me.

You’re gauging him the same way men gauge women. Except women’s parameters for a mate aren’t, by and large, the same as man’s. While it’s true men seek out mates largely along the lines of appearance and youth, older men don’t dissuade the majority of women, and women are willing to look past appearance if he has material or financial wealth to offer. Bottom line is a woman will judge a man based on not only looks and age, but employment status, living arrangement, fashion sense, how nice his car is, and how wealthy he is. The overwhelming majority of men couldn’t care less if a woman is jobless, homeless, or wearing a burlap bag as long as she’s young and beautiful. As unrealistic as Pretty Woman is, the basic truth is there. A man will look past a lot of things if you’re young and attractive. However, a role reversal is hilariously, gloriously, farcically unlikely Oh, and the “woman desiring a young broke artist” trope is no different than the dynamic I stated earlier. She’s investing in a man with traits she desires because she believes he will become wealthy and take her with him

Sometimes I think I could be that person. I've never dated irl but only recently started online dating. Been on three dates so far. I notice I can be a bit nervous talking to new people and I think I'm kind of boring. I'm an introvert and I don't like partying or clubbing or drinking alcohol, partly because of family reasons but also because I don't like the taste of it. I don't have many hobbies outside of martial arts, video games, reading or creative writing. I do like science, nature and history but I'm definitely a homebody and I never learnt to ride a bike. Idk, I guess it never got far enough that people would be interested in me as a person. Also I know I'm asexual but I wouldn't mind dating other genders or orientations. I just never found anyone to click with, and I think I feel better in myself about that now.

@@Phoebe5448 Patience. And then a little more patience . . . with yourself and with others. I think most people start out dating someone they know from school, or church, or work. In this way you get to see how they behave around others; male & female, similar ages and older/younger. Observe and pay attention. If you observe others you'll quickly see that many different sorts of people have made matches, some good, some disastrous. Good luck. My wife and I have been married 57 years, met at work but worked in different departments.

First date with a sweet girl and she talks for an hour about how her ex husband cheated on her and how she got breast cancer. Grim details of her almost dying and the conclusion that it could come back at any time and will probably kill her next time. I listened and was polite, but was barely able to get a word in. She was cute too, so i stuck with it. At the end of the night she texted me several times how she had a great time and couldn't wait to do it again. I actually considered a second date. After three more days of texting back & forth I asked her out for 2nd date. Completely ghosts me! Huh??? 🤨

The Ex would always try to talk about our problems etc and my friend would just be very uncomfortable obviously. The Ex would tell me that the two of them became best friends and got along great. The Friend on the other hand was mostly being nice since I was dating the guy, the moment broke up with the ex, we both cut contact fully with him. Yeah! Tell me about it. I just broke up with a guy I'd been with for 14 years. I'm a cancer survivor and have scar tissue on my pituitary gland, from the tumor I had above it. The pressure from the scar tissue causes my pituitary gland to produce a hormone below the level it should be, which leaves me with eyebrow length hair on my face, neck, chest, lower stomach, and legs. I shave this hair anytime I go out in public, but I have to use a specialized razor because I'm allergic to nickel, which is present in all razors except one kind and that one kind has artificial dyes in it (Yellow 5 and 6) and those dyes give me anaphylaxis. These razors can only be found on Amazon and cost $35 for a refill of 4. The majority of the time I have to take dye free allergy medicine after shaving, to prevent breaking out in hives and having anaphylaxis. My point in telling you this: shaving is a challenge! When I was with that jerk, if I had the tiniest blonde hair/partial hair I missed (that you couldn't see unless you were on top of me) and he noticed (because he was physically close to me) he would throw a sh*t fit! No one else saw it! I'm so happy to be done with him!

Downloaded my very first dating app last year October, I hate it when a guy is demanding and is angry for no reason at all. I was nice and the guy was 20 years old, I only came there to meet catfishes,to satisfy my curiosity and see the lives of these people. I never tried online dating due to how a person look different on cam vs in real life. Online dating may have a lot of disappointments due to the barrier that it has between the two people whether it's culture or simply just not being infront of them. I prefer dating in person at least there's no awkwardness.

Mid 1966. While in Army my buddy and I were in Lake Charles, LA. We were walking along (early evening) when a car with two girls stop and ask if we'd like a lift. We said were weren't going anywhere special... which was fine with them. We rode around and things were looking good. One girl was looking at me like a dog looks at a bone. We drove past a drive-in which was showing (later) "Horror Night. 4 Edgar Allen Poe Thrillers" and we agreed we'd go later when it opened. About 5 minutes later my buddy lets out a scream and grabs his leg. Says he has a cramp and needs to "walk it off" and rest. They drop us off and leave. As soon as they're out of sight he says he's ok... he doesn't really have a cramp. I ask what was the big idea? His answer? "Who the hell wants to spend all night watching Vincent Price movies?"

0:23 no comment on this one tbh 9:41 after hearing so many other dating stories as weird as this sounds I've developed a "test" for a potential date, but it all has to do with how they might treat not just me but others (especially waiters) and nothing to do with something like this. 23:19 gotta love Calvinists! As an ex-Catholic I used to be a theology nerd so I wouldn't mind listening to that kind of conversation for a bit just out of curiosity. It really surprises me that people don’t just tell other people the truth about their weird behavior. I stopped the video on the one where the mom comes on all of the dates for her daughter and was like wtf? The first thing that I would have done is tell the girl how bat crap crazy controlling that was and that she would never get a man that way. And that she needs therapy to cut that umbilical cord already 😂. If you are an adult-you don’t take your dam- mother on your dates! So many of these stories are people who can’t or won’t communicate boundaries. People aren’t going to realize how fricked up they are unless it’s addressed head on. Just spill the beans and TELL them!

Then one day in winter there was ice on the ground and we all “skated” on it and I saw him, and I gave him some tips for balance and then we apologized to eachother and admitted that it was a lot of fun. But ok, took her for a beer and some food in a restaurant, while she talked to me relatively decently, she was mocking other people and calling the waiter names and yelling at him. I don't know nor care to know what was wrong with her, but the waiter was pissed off by her, took the beer he brought and poured on her head. I sat there laughing out loud, I both understand and agree with the waiter.

God damn she must have been a real *bitch* to get that response from the waiter. I mean everyone has a breaking point but that goes above and beyond risking one's job, that's just "I don't give a fuck anymore" levels of anger

My date knew I was white from my online bio. Was surprised that I was white when I met her for coffee. Spent the date listening to why I was an oppressor and whenever I tried to talk she just rolled her eyes at everything I said. I left the date fairly defeated and took a break from dating. I had just moved and knew very few people.

Biggest dating WTF? I was newly divorced and living in a motel (which I was honest about)…had a date show up and look at my 2009 Chevy HHR that was paid off (this was 2019) and cringe cuz I drove a Chevy. No flinch cuz I was basically homeless, no concern for the fact that I had a paid-off car! Shortest date ever…maybe lasted 3 minutes 😅

Went out with a girl to a hibachi and was egging me on when it came to the sake. I love sake and can drink it like water so when the chef was squirting out of a big ass water gun, I didn't quit. I was thoroughly drunk by the end of dinner and I asked her to drive. She refused despite driving herself there. I reluctantly drove us to the movie she chose, but that was out last date.n

I'm visually impaired and cannot see well enough to drive. I started becoming visually impaired 8 months after I turned 13, due to cancer I had in my brain and spinal cord in the form of a germ cell tumor. I'm terrible with directions. I was out on a date one night, when I was 16, and the guy I was with asked me if I knew where I was. We were in a big city that is roughly an hour and a half from my house and I jokingly said, "No; you could put me out here and I'd have no idea where I was!" The guy pulled over and said, "Get out." I laughed and said, "Funny!" He said again, "Get out." I said, "Do what?" He replied, "Get out." "No." *Awkward silence and staring* He laughed and said, "I'm just kidding!" Hilarious.

Out on a first date with this guy, beachside patio arrangement, so tables are quite close together. Guy starts telling me his life story. Non stop. Okay. Mentions he gets "absence seizures" sometimes, but halfway through this part of his story, he just stares blankly and stops talking. It lasts long enough to be a noticeable gap in his monologue, and a man sitting with a woman just beside us just looks at me and raises his eyebrows quizzically. As though in sympathy (and amusement) and after total silence for another two minutes, date then resumes transmission as though no glitch in his matrix had occurred. Random guy at nearby table is now looking very sympathetic and has obviously twigged from my expression, that A. it's a first date and B. it's a last date. So if random guy hadn't been sitting with his (probably) wife, HE and I would have got along about 100% better than I was with my "date" because, basically, fellas, paying attention to a woman is way more flattering than monopolizing the whole convo, just FYI - (though I don't approve of any guy giving attention to another woman when with your own, but my date was obviously more interesting conversationally than what was going on at random guy's table because...EVERYONE could hear him, so he may have had hearing issues too). Same date guy had other weird quirks too. As in, really wanted to see my car. But I waited until he finally left the parking lot before walking to mine. Just all 'round weird.

Was dating this seemingly nice girl, i was impressed when I met her because she was donating her time to the less fortunate kids in this orphanage so I asked her out, first date went fine dinner and a movie, the second we met just for dinner because I was working she told me that her mom wanted me to join then for Sunday Catholic Church a bit weird but ok took a raincheck, third date decided to go dancing to this popular mexican band and was going to buy tickets, her mother got wind of this and wanted some too for another table, (lol nope, ghosted before even term got popular), a month later was her birthday and she invited me to her party, made an excuse and I tough that was the end, well nope on the next day she dropped a full cake in front of my house with a note that said "wish you where there on my Bday". I never even remotely told her where I was living... Asked my friends and coworkers none said that spoke to her but some guys at work remember seeing her outside of work and tough she was wait for me to be off... FCK that

One saying that's helped me live a better life is this one: "If it's between me being f-ed up and all other people being f-ed up in the same way, it's far more likely that it's me who's f-ed up." Taking responsibility for your behavior is the key trait of a mature human being. Blaming others for your own problems is a heinous thing to do, Cuz that makes you feel vindicated in causing misery to innocent people and/or judging them unfairly. It's like a person who says "all of the ♂️or♀️ in my city are stuck-up b#$£es". Really? There are thousands of single ♂️or♀️there, & they claims that they can't find one good one? Whose fault is that? It's their fault. Their acting lazy & unfairly judging thousands of ♀️or♂️ Cuz of their unwillingness to take responsibility for their failures. To quote Mark Manson: Our minds are always looking for ways to avoid pain and failure & rejection, & so they constantly churn out rationalizations to keep us impeccable; it’s them who f-ed up, not us. We're fine. We did everything right. It's that f-ed up world's fault we're not happy. Blame is yet another form of neediness. It’s prioritizing others over yourself. As long as it’s their fault, then you don’t have to make yourself vulnerable. But when you practice taking responsibility for everything that happens in your life, you stop blaming others. It becomes less a question of blame & more a question of sacrifice. It’s no longer their fault that you’re still single Cuz they’re all cold b%$ches, But now it’s your fault & a question of whether you’re willing to sacrifice the extra effort or not to find a ♀️or♂️ who isn’t a cold b%$ch. Taking responsibility & morphing blame into sacrifice empowers you. It puts the ball in your court & returns you to the healthy reality that the only person in this world who determines your success & failure is you

Regarding the “I hate promiscuity” guy, it’s equally likely he agreed with her when she stated not liking promiscuity. Since it was a first date, he just smiled and nodded. More often than not, when someone I just met or barely know tells me “I hate promiscuity”, it means they are promiscuous but want others to see them differently. I wouldn’t be surprised if he just agreed with her, which qualifies as “You said you don’t like promiscuity”, but filed it in the back of his mind that she likely is. ... only in this case either she wasn’t into him, or she belonged to the minority of people who aren’t promiscuous and tell others they don’t approve of such behavior.

@@Roadent1241 deafness is measured a scale denoting degrees of limited hearing all the way to complete deafness. “Asexuality” as you mean it is a fashion accessory. The word, which has meant “non-sexual or non-sexed” is co-opted by people who claim it as an identity even though they still remain sexually attracted to others. It’s pure comedy, and claimed by those who have nothing interesting to say about themselves, so they invent an imaginary sexuality. Twenty years ago, pretending you were depressed was popular due to an implied depth of character for having depression. Now it’s this

@@redram5150 OK. It's not a fashion accessory. It is literally the label for those who do not experience that attraction, or may have a small range, hence demi/gray-aceness. Just like 'deafness' means a range in or lack of hearing. I assume you've looked up Anthony Boghart, I believe the name is, who did this research. Swankivy is a great source of information for this topic, she's been doing this for years now. She's written a couple of books about it to educate with as well, so it's a hell of a 'fashion accessory' XD If fully fucking (always wanting to fuck mustfuckorwilldie) people exist, then clearly the opposite (never having that attraction or urges to) does too lol. If fully hearing people exist then clearly the full deafness does too. It's just opposites. It would be wierd if there was suddenly not an opposite to something. Allos-xual = Attraction on. The majority of the population. Can't stop putting fucking in literally EVERYTHING and acting like it's necessary to live. As-xual = Attraction off. Normal life but without fucking. Easy. Not as boring as allos make it out to be XD Grey/Demi = Attraction off except when triggered either by specifically bonded person or for short bursts at random before it switches back off. This DOES NOT MEAN they are ALLO in the slightest. I'm not calling myself Ace just because I'm not fucking anyone. I have been in relationships and brain has NEVER ONCE gone 'want fuck fuck' like everybody says happens. It has always gone '..... what is fuck fuck? Ew no sounds horrible. bleh. No. No want fuck fuck. Stop trying to make me fuck fuck.'. I'm nearly 30, I think I'd know what my body does and doesn't want, even if I don't know shit about emotions.
