FYI: For the i7 (7590), if you plan on buying the lowest ssd/RAM and upgrading, it will save you $96 in total over ordering the same level of ssd/Ram from Dell. Add to it your labor, time and potential issues to replace them to your decision making. Personally, for $96, I might just order the higher ssd/ram and be done with it.

I'm terrified to open my XPS 15 7590. First and only time I did it I blew something up and had to send it back to the factory for repair. My DC jack was damaged but still working so I opened it up to see how hard it would be to replace it. While it was open I thought I might as well clean the fans so I unplugged the battery, removed the fans and cleaned them with compressed air and reassembled everything. That's it, that's all I did and it blew something up. I was very careful, I wasn't touching everything, I clean the fans away from the laptop so nothing was blowing into the laptop.

I am just wondering if you have wifi disconnection issue? Mine one has the issue plus thermal issue too. I would like to know whether these issues are common in the 7590 model.
@mrstatic095 жыл бұрын
I've had mine for about 2 weeks less than THT had his. Not seen a wifi disconnect issue at all. There are any number of things that could cause that though, so you might need to supply more info. Regarding thermals, yes, it's common across all models of the XPS 15 using the current shape. There are a few tools out that can help with thermals (MSI afterburner, Intel XTU). Google it up and you should find them simply enough. THT also has a video where he runs through some undervolting of cpu/gpu (similar to what you'll find when you google it). JUST BE CAREFUL.

Apple is shite. My Macbook Pro is 18 months old, keyboard is fcked started clicking like there is something stuck to the keys for no reason and i didnt spill anything..apparently r&d screwed up big time with many people complaining about their flimsy keyboard. Good news is they will repair/replace those keyboards free of charge with the problem. Thats one good thing about them their support is second to none but reliability is questionable as for example the keyboard issue is applicable to models from 2016-2019. It took them more than 3 years to get it right for fucks sake. The other issue i have is that i slammed shut the lid in anger one day which apparently stuffed up the some hardware component of my laptop where now i have these strange vertical lines on the right side of my screen. Surprisingly i didnt even use that much force. My first macbook i ever had was built like a tank. I dropped it on the footpath from a height of about 1.5m and it landed on its corner and nothing happened to it.. continued working perfectly and walked away with only a mad dent and scratch. I liked Apple when Steve Jobs was running the company but its just not the same anymore.

I've had the same issue with Killer NIC's in the past (specifically with Dell laptops) where an update for the NIC gets installed and then...beyond belief...it STOPS WORKING. Not sure if THT has mentioned this before but Killer partner with a chipset maker to create the killer NIC's - in the past it might have been realtek or qualcomm. At the moment it's intel. So the one in your XPS SHOULD be intel based but with Killer drivers.
