Utter bullshit. Top price for a 1600GT is £20k maybe, possibly. But incredibly unlikely. The £3k motor will not realise the cost - people expect the car to have an engine so this "Drew" character is as usual talking bollocks. The paint scheme will put people off - an identical Cortina failed to sell in Australian Online Auction - so maybe the same car - for £20k. Look at the logic - Lotus Cortinas are going for £25-£30k, 1600E s at £17 - £20k, so why will a 1600GT make £40k? Just like the FIAT 130 Coupe the prices quoted are bullshit.

I remember when the Mk 2 came out and it was advertised as having bowl in pistons ( which means cheaper cylinder heads ) and cross flow heads. It is not a true cross flow because the valves are in line thus limiting the size of the intake and exhaust ports and even the 1600 engine did not put out more than 80 hp. The Lotus twin cam put out about 120 hp which was a lot back in the day.
