Ther is an extra screw under the 'Factory Seal' sticker! Please can people be aware of this! It's hidden under the sticker so needs to be unscrewed also to remove that back case.

Yesterday I added a Kingston KC3000 Gen 4 1TB (7000MB read/6000MB write) drive and 2 x 32GB 3200 SODIMM memory modules to my GF66 (i7 12700H CPU/Gen 4 NVMe) and now its very very fast and I do not have to wait for anything. Its faster than this channel owners laptop. The 11 models only have a Gen 3 interface. 12 models have a Gen 4 interface.

Nikolay man I gotta ask when you performed your upgrade when you placed the bottom cover back on did it feel a little loose still when you placed it back on with the screws?

No it stays very well secured, there is no any movement. Check if you place it correctly and if all the small plastic teeth went to its place.

You said the seller also sent you a heat sink for the ssd? It looks like you didn't install it is this because there's no space for it?

Hi, I install it under the ssd, there is enough space. Is good to use heat sink whe you replace or add new ssd. Will lower the temperature of the ssd with few degree. Mine was blue color it can be seen little bit under the ssd. 👍

Was the cover hard to get off and put back on? Is it connected by the hooks on the inside of the cover? I got a SN750 on the way but am paranoid about breaking the cover of such an expensive machine and don't know if I want to risk it.

It has small hooks yes, but I think if you are careful and patient enough with the cover it should gently come off.

when you are in bios press : right shift + right ctrl + ALT + F2 . It will open secret bios menu so you can find XMP profile for 3200mhz

It's recommended to install, will lower the temperature of the NVMe with few degrees. It depends from where you buy the ssd many sellers will include heatsink.

Hi I installed it without, the SSD that is on the laptop itself also doesn't have. But I put a thick isolating film, you can see it in the video. I monitored the temperature of both SSDs and all is normal. I don't think the cooling radiator will make any difference.

Hi there, excellent video and thanks for posting! I am having a hard time finding the RAM. I upgraded the M2 and it works great, but I am ready to get the RAM. Can you link where you got them or point to me to a good online merchant please? Thanks! Also....for those that have this machine and are adding the M2 and not replacing the original, you will need to format this drive so Windows 10 to find it. Luckily, this is pretty easy from Disk Management tool within Windows. Cheers!

I know your post is from a long time ago, but just in case: I just got a GE66 (similar specs). I saw a review that said the fans were loud, but I'm playing Cyberpunk 2077 (very graphic intensive) and the fans are on the quiet side, IMO. (Fan speed can be controlled by keyboard, so I wonder if that reviewer accidentally kicked the fans to max. I tried that, and doing that will make them loud.) Did you end up getting one?

I have the ge66 with i7 10750 and 2070S. My idle cpu temps can range from 50s-60s and and on rare occasions have hit 70s. I don’t think this is normal but while gaming I get good temps in the lows 80s and my gpu never gets over 70 degrees. Should I try to replace for a different model because I don’t want a lemon version of this laptop.

I have the version with 32 gb its run everything ive tried with graphics all the way up and max frame rate. I dont think 16gb would. Not gonna do the ram upgrade but my 1tb ssd is at 750gb now with like 7 big games installed and got a notice advising not to put more so am going to do the extra drive.
