Upgrading Our 4X4 Suspension - Then Going Testing!

Tim to upgrade Our 4X4 suspension. Installing new Tough Dog shock absorbers for Overland travel. It was time for a much needed upgrade to our suspension on the Molly the Mitsubishi Pajero. Any 4WD that is going to be used seriously, soon enough will need a quality set of Shock absorbers. Especially when considering long term Overland travel when you need to rely on critical components to keep you safe and the vehicle reliable!

Kristina > mechanic - that`s great. BTW: the suspension is after tires the most critical thing on 4x4. Be aware for the hanger extension; the will flip very soon... To avoid this you must have a stopper. Very good to see both of you healthy and funny - that`s make my week. Cheers, Alfred

Hey Man, Love all of the videos, I have long wheel base Mk1 too, I've lifted it about 4 inches by modifying standard mk1 stuff but I'm considering putting mk2 stuff in the front. Do you have any videos of getting that done? Thanks

Hmm. Got me thinking about upgrades now. What's the advantage of foam cell? I direct the question to the mechanic who did such a top installation job! Great video guys!

It all comes down to heat, foam cell does a better job at dissipating it 😁 so in turn works well in endurance off road applications 😀

I could do with upgrading my suspension - I broke a front shock not long ago through going too fast. My ML320 W163 is quite capable but it isn't really a hard core off roader! I broke an anti roll bar just before lock down too. Really, it could do with lifting 3 or 4 inches, and adding a snorkel - I nearly drowned it last year going through water over the bonnet - that was a narrow escape! I've got out more in lock down than I did before and have been seeing how much illegal off roading I can get away with! I made a path, a track and a road in an unploughed field that looked like it hadn't even been touched by the Romans! I'll join you on Patreon as soon as I can, but I'm a bit broke at the moment (down to £0.80 in my bank!).

Have you guys tried reindexing your Pajero? For more ride height? Or comparing a Bilstein 4600 to a Toughdog suspension? By the way that is an awesome machine! I love your Pajero! :-)

It is indeed. About 2" on suspension and 2" on body lift
