i wish an e-bike wasnt extremely expensive (my economic state isnt exactly good) i usually use my regular bike as transportation and it would be really nice for uphill roads. And then when i'm free i could take it to the bike path along the beach and crank the speed up, now that would be living life like a king!
@DonnyTerek2 жыл бұрын
An e-bike can be made fairly cheap if you do it yourself, there are plenty of kits and batteries for reasonable prices. This particular e-bike costs more due to a more powerful motor and larger battery, but a 1kW e-bike can be built fairly cheap. You can check my other e-bike video to see how I built that.

Useful tip for tidier cable tying.. loop cable tie only around wiring and pull closed. Pass the long tail of the cable through a gap in the frame or through a space/hole. Cut the locking end off a second cable tie then use that to secure the long tail of the first one on the wiring. Works great for wiring running next to battery base.

@4.20 you use a tool to remove the sprocket. Did you modify this tool to fit the axel? I can't find a tool to fit the axel. If you bought this tool, I'd like to buy it. Thanks to your vids I now commute 40 miles a day most along canals. Great fun. And saves me loads of money. Thanks!

Hi! Thanks for the kind words. So glad to see I helped you with my video. Yes, I actually had to modify the freewheel removal tool to fit the axle. I simply drilled a larger hole using a step drill bit. The original tool diameter is 12mm I drilled to 14mm.

I ended up getting mid drive due to long and steep uphills (1-2km of 25-30 degrees) in my city, total for bbshd kit with 52v 21a battery was like 1600cad, but really worth it. This hub you got is a great option for less hilly cities and it’s much cheaper, and less maintenance than mid drive

Hi Donny, Ich habe einen Akku der 52v und 13 ah hat. Der narbenmotor hat 1000w. Ich komme auf die Geschwindigkeit von 50-58 km/h. Wie könnte ich schneller werden? Also 70- 80 km/h wären schon gut. Und ich habe seit kurzen ein kleines Problem, beim beschleunigen setzt der antrieb offensichtlich kurz aus, also hat so ruckler, hast du da eine Idee?
@wastedWizard5092 жыл бұрын
get a 60 or 72v battery or get a larger chain ring in the front if you buy a higher voltage battery i recommend to buy a 72v controller than you good to go :)
@DonnyTerek2 жыл бұрын
As mentioned below, your best option is a higher voltage battery, most likely 72V to go 70-80 km/h. A larger chainring in the front (smaller in the back) helps while pedalling at higher speeds.
@CMK-Security3 жыл бұрын
Can you actually still Shift gears with this and completely Turn of the motor? Also what i dont get is how does a Motor mounted on the Back wheel actually also Act as accelerator? 🤔
@DonnyTerek3 жыл бұрын
It is a single speed now, so no gear shifting is possible. You can still pedal it with the motor off. Not sure what part you don't get as a motor being used to accelerate a bike.

@saterra20223 жыл бұрын
Why did you choose one speed star in the rear? What is the real advantage?
@MaximC3 жыл бұрын
My guess it's much easier to fix the tire, in case of a puncture. Plus for since it's an electric bike, one doesn't need different speeds. But maybe there are other reasons, I don't know.
@ronandowling49833 жыл бұрын
The hub motor ads width. So one sprocket helps it fit. Also the motor is so powerful that you barely peddle and if you do you're going super fast. The iterations are therefore not really needed on the rear on such a powerful electric bike.
@DonnyTerek3 жыл бұрын
I fit the single speed since I was not using the larger gears much. I also was not able to pedal the bike above 35 km/h, since the gearing was small. Leaving a single speed also clears up the cockpit from the shifter. Replacing the front chainring to a larger one also helped since now I can pedal at 45 km/h and a bit above.

@Niesha266 Жыл бұрын
This bike was really easy to assemble kzbin.infoUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA and required very few adjustments out of the box. The wheels did not require any truing/adjustments. The frame had some small scratches, but nothing major.I did replace the seat though - the seat it came with was very uncomfortable. The tires need to be re-inflated every 4-5 days, but this appears to be quite common for the narrow 700x25 tires.Overall, in my opinion, this bike looks and rides like a much more expensive bike.

Very cool! Everything, except for the star at 48, did the right thing !!! But why such a huge star??? I don’t believe the motor is not spinning for maximum speed. The turnover should be enough! But the maximum torque on the wheel decreases at the same time! A 30-tooth star should ride better! PS: instead of the rear switch, you can put a chain damper. There will be relief and one less roller!
@DonnyTerek3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I upgraded to a larger front chainring to be able to pedal at higher speeds (above 30 mph). Yup, I tried installing a chain tensioner but the distance from the freewheel to the tensioner was too large to have it installed properly. Would need an adapter for that.
