so glad to see you with the stick steer, I figured the weight forward may not have a good option for prop select.. I have a merc 25 on mine and running 20 by gps its still a new boat to me will have to use awhile but at least I now have good prop options for later.

Check your RPM with a tach at WOT. I have a 25hp Yamaha 2-stroke on my boat. Stock prop with my motor is an 3 blade aluminum 11 1/4" pitch so I bought a turning point aluminum 3 blade prop in 11 pitch. I lost 400rpm with the turning point and was below my operating WOT rpm range. So the turning point props are more aggressive with the cupping and pitch. My WOT operating range is 5500-6000 rpm for my motor. You want to be at the top of the WOT operating range if possible. The motor will perform better all around and you will get out of the hole better.

This video was brought to you by TurningPoint, no just kidding man, my 78 Evinrude had the original prop on it and I thought it probably needed to be replaced but I didn’t think I had a good enough excuse to pay the money to replace it (even though I was only going 12 mph with a 115hp engine) but the water got low in my lake and I ran into some rocks backing out of the ramp area and had a catastrophic crack in one of my prop blades. I put a turning point prop on there and it’s like night and day, now I’m hitting 45 mph (though I can completely put that on the prop I did do a carb overhaul while waiting on it to arrive) and my engine runs so much better.

Should have kept it as a spare

reason the old prop didn't work right is because it dont fit the motor properly. its an OMC prop and your using the wrong thrust washer for the prop and its slipping. thats why you had pimples on the blades.. ONLY omc used convergence rings, it was their patent, mercury never done that , they had the flare ends.
