If memory serves me correct, 50 years ago the toe of the glacier was down at the parking lot just off the highway. I was a kid and my parents took us there and we played on the glacier, this would be before the bus trips . Thanks for sharing this.

I worked at those Ice Fields one summer and I did a trek on the glacier in a guided tour, you wouldn’t catch me dead on a glacier without a guide, you have no idea when you’re on an ice bridge and if it collapses you’re gone. Your hike and your photography is beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

Wow David. You are one incredible person. Thank you so much for this. Video. It’s a reminder that Canada is still beautiful. I so look forward to your content. Exactly what Canadians want to know. Every morning I look to see moose on the loose notification and I know it’s going to be a good day. Thank you so much for your hard work.

Wow 🤩 Great footage. Jasper is the most beautiful place I have ever seen in person. Went there way back in 1999 on our way to Edmonton.

My first job was at Jasper Park Lodge. Wont catch me on vertical scree Bravo. Great accomplishment
@StewartMidwinter23 күн бұрын
9:00 yes, that's a trail, but it's not an up track, it's a down track. If there is loose scree it's a fast way to run down a mountain.

The original horse trail went up, over Wilcox Pass as the glacier extended down, across the valley and was not passable.

just keep going back in my hiking videos you'll find annoying music haha. I've gone through stages learning to be a filmmaker so the older the hiking video the more music there will be. its a learning process

No bears out there? Maybe not enough prey for bears at that elevation. Beautiful views, thanks for your video. What a wonderful escape from the city world.

bears have been known to cross glaciers so technically they can pop over but you'd see them from kms away

thats nuts, what i did see after you can hike off that unamed "Horn of Athabasca" as i called it down to the glacier then get up on the ridge up to boundary peak which looks a heck of a lot safer

if you can fit 30L and are ok with Aonijie their 30L pack is pretty amazing. UD 40 is awesome teh 50 Swift is got that extra space they all have their place.

its depressing visiting this glacier as an albertan. I went there when i was a kid , then went there 2 years ago and to see how much it has melted. When i have children this glacier will probably be gone.
