When you said you had Paul's tent I immediately said to myself, 'I bet you can feel Paul's spirit in there.' And just then you said it. It is very satisfying to collect all the right equipment for wild camping and to use it all. Yes, the views were stunning. You were richly rewarded for your efforts. Glad to hear that the ankle is improving with every excursion. Thanks, Mark

Mark, always good to find some shelter with a decent pitch and using Pauls tent👍Cool to hear the update on your book and hopefully you will connect with the right publisher. Interesting to hear about the funding to develop alternative farming practices along the Wye that doesn't involve all that phosphate - big issues here with the levels of phosphate, mostly from farming, affecting rivers and loughs and as you say all about growing meat. You got a lovely morning with that golden light, shadows and views☀The universe is amazing in how it connects👍

@WyeExplorer Hi Mark. I'm still rough. Not moved much at all last few days. I didn’t mean going there for a camp soon, later in the year possibly. I have my next 2 months all planned out. I was supposed to be at a waterfalls this week, Blaen y Glyn. Illness stopped me. Later this month I'm 3 days wild camping in Lake District. 2 hikes a day starting with Scafell Pike. I'm the doing the Welsh 3 Peaks. Also camping again on a beach, I've got lots planned and few new bits of kit. I've been invited to camp with another KZbinr. I'm not stalking you🤣 I just thought later in the year I'd go because you said it’s quiet. Probably won't even do a vid there. I go out sometimes just to enjoy. I camped in New Quay on Saturday with my son. He wanted to see Nant Syddion house the next day. We didn't make that part. Big motorbike accident on the road. We had to turn around, I'll take him another time. Hope your book gets picked up soon. I can't wait to get up the lake District next month. 3 days and I'll be very busy. Look forward to your next one. All the best. Jamie 👋

All good mate. I'm hoping to do a lot in England this year. Nice to see your video is doing well as always. Loads comment and I think that's really nice because it obviously takes so much time and effort to go out travel etc and put it all together. Always nice to see how many people like and comment on your adventures. All the best on your next one.👋

Hey Mark . What a dead end that is , beautiful stuff . Ive seen some mountain water recently that was so acidic it was bizarre . Left me with a contact burn on my hand , im not exactly sure it was the water , but i couldnt figure out where else i got the burn . Any experience with that ? Looked pretty knarly a spot to camp . But you got the best spot with the wind . So isolated though . Looking fit brother . With my tent im lucky i can open the top of the door to let air move around , i leave the door open . Ive had those flash back memories while camping , ckear defined jumps back 30 years . Surely a present from nature

Alright there Owen, yeah a good time out - I got the views. Re-the water all was good. I had no side effects like you. For sure a baron top this but that dip was good-wind fierce on top. Yeah, keeping git - just gotta sought out my ankle for good - getting there. It's good to let the air circulate - usually leave the door open but it was gusty. Ah, the memories - nature helps. Thanks Owen. All the best. Mark

Very interesting stuff Mark. I wonder what the name Gamallt means? Place-names fascinate me. £35 million dabs to clean up the Wye? I have to say, it sounds like drop in the ocean but, it is better than nothing. I don't know much about phosphates but surely what is most important is prevention of them entering the watercourses in the first place? And farmers are generally not very receptive to change! I find the mistreatment of landscapes and habitats utterly depressing and I do hope it will make a difference. Best of luck with the book too. Bye for now, Chris
@WyeExplorer7 ай бұрын
Hi there Chris, yeah a lot going on in this one names and all. I just looked up the etymology and Gamall means superlative. Perhaps it relates to its prominence. Re-the 35 mil I agree and even said is it enough? I don't think so. There will be a spending round of a few years but it will need to be renewed. Well, like you Chris I'm aghast at the waste and pollution - the buck stops with the consumer and the big companies marketing cheap meat. But yeah the farmers on the ground are the ones that have to stump up too. Thanks mate - the books being sold as we speak. All the best up there. Mark

Got too much to say about this one .. wow it’s all about Gamallt man! What an awesome place , a hidden gem with insane views. You have inspired me to do it! Did you park at the Gilfach visitor centre? The walk up Moelfre on the opposite side looks cool too? Amazing how those two buzzards appeared when remembering Paul , how incredible and very moving. Good luck with your book, how interesting., is it fiction or biographical? I’ll buy a copy if it’s published. You say it’s your favourite place in the world, that’s a bold statement for someone who’s done so much hiking, but I could see it , don’t think I’ve seen you happier than that at the end of the video! Stuck at work on a late shift but all I can think about is Gamallt! Lol Best wishes

Alright there Adam, yeah it's an incredible basin in the Wye Valley. It has to be said I went there, not just for the views, but for the soul too. It has a special place in my heart for obvious reasons. I don't own the land Adam - any of it but I'd like to ask you not to race up there. I've only just been there - give me chance to enjoy it and allow it to sink in for myself. I agree the Buzzards were amazing and that's my point - there's the sacredness of it. Re- getting there I walked from Rhayader. About the book. It's a biography about twins. It's called 'The Sight of Two.' It's a deep dive. Many thanks - I appreciate you bro and your enthusiasm but if we could slow it down there that would be cool. All the best. Mark
