I find that my friends don’t want to get out of the house! It’s not fun they don’t want to meet me for a dinner or a drink because they say things like “I can’t drive at night because of my cataracts” or “I’m too comfortable on my couch and don’t want to get up and get dressed”. It’s so annoying. So you’re right the old stubbornness kicks in!!!

Being retired these last 4 years and no kids means at last I can do what I've always dreamt of - having loads of time to do mobility every day, running, hiking, gym work etc. That's what retirement is for - is it not?

Retirement is wonderful. I have a great leisure complex, with 3 pools. I do aqua 5/6 times a week, 2 Swim fit classes, 2 yoga, casual swimming & go to the toning chairs. Occasionally I hit the gym, but not too keen on that! I'm 75.

A big backyard (almost 1 acre) with lots of fruit trees. a veggie garden and two dogs keep me fit at age 79. And (of course) exercises from this channel. At the moment I am challenging myself with a deep squat (almost there). Considering that about 3 years ago I could barely walk my dogs because one of my hips and knee hurt just to much. Thanks to daily exercises for about 3 weeks the pain got less and slowly went completely away and today I still can run (not only walk) with my dogs. And I am still doing the exercises today (although not daily). Just wanted to encourage everyone not to give up and just start moving and exercising again (even if it feels almost impossible).

One thing I did was get a desk that pulls up so I can stand at my computer not just sit. It really does make me take more steps and more energy standing.

I walked 5 miles everyday until I had a stroke. I loved listening to podcasts or just music and felt my happiest.

Gradually is the word- I joined a pilates class and torqued my knee so badly, I'm 63. I love these videos and slowly I'm getting stronger at home alone.

I’m 65, walk the dog daily, jog, rock climb and bike or do some other exercise daily. I definitely need to stretch more and I’m attending a stretching and self-myofascial seminar this weekend. Recovery is just as important as exercise! Love your channel,

I can certainly identify with this video about how one feels as they get old! It’s entertaining yet informative too! It seems when I try strengthening my left knee after an injury to it 20 years ago that it bothers me more afterwards, so need the days of rest before going forward again. I think it’s because my recovery time is so much longer now that I turned 78 a month ago. I had to laugh the way you described that, though! Could be I’m not stretching it enough beforehand. My diagnosis is chondromalacia patella.

Just turned 70. My advice about aging is: don’t do it if you can avoid it!

There's only one way to avoid it, and I'd rather wait my turn for that 😁

Altho I purpose to move more and sit less, I find retirement aids and abets inadvertent sitting…thus moving less. Especially in cold winter environments ie 20 degree weather with 💨 wind… I do use you-tube walking programs, and set projects to get done, so I’m more focused now that I realize how easily one slides into sitting in the winter months (and years) of retirement. 10,000 steps is a good goal, although I adhere better and hurt less if it’s several times a week and not daily. Move move move. Best retirement book is Younger Next Year. I find it’ll kick yer butt and it’s encouraging. To remember Your JOB now (at 65) is to stay healthy.

Many think reverse: because somebody is weak and cannot even perform squat, he/she should not perform squat. This thinking is making people accelerate the deterioration of their health. Sitting and sleeping on a bed do not make one mobile.

very entertaining and funny and so true about the skeleton mentioning chocolate, I think of chocolate a lot, I eat the 85%dark and love it so much. I am 72 go to the gym twice per week and walk daily, staying active here in Florida all year my body feels young and strong. Also I choose to eat healthy and think and feel positive.. The sunshine also helps very much for mood and health.I do gardening and all kinds of chores around the house as a single independent female.

Unless you're rich or popular being young doesn't do you any good either. Sure if I had my dream girl at 20 that sticks to me no matter how broke I am. But life's not a fairytale. Much better to be old and rich than young and broke.

Ha Ha Ha! I thought you meant really getting old, and is retired. You have tons of time. And yes, maintaining your body is your job! And the more you exercise you do the better your brain mores - I have found. Anyway, thank you for all your videos and good advice. ATM!

Find movement you love and do it consistently 15 minutes every day. Add resistance bands 10 minutes every other day using a fun video (I like Denise Austin). It's good for your muscles and bones. Eat more protein, healthy fats and produce and less sugar and starch. Sleep 7-9 hours a night. Stretching before bedtime is very relaxing and helps sleep.
