Erick Herrera I’ve talked to a few people who have either taken hiatuses/quit or moved to pauper, edh, or solely limited because of how busted companions are. Point is, people love this game, but being dissatisfied with a mechanic doesn’t make them “weenies”

Diego Brando MTG I mean. People have been wicked pissy about this game for as long as time. The biggest barrier to entry in this game is dealing with shitty attitudes stereotypical of nerd culture, not “power level”

Match 1, Game 2 was a nice fast clean grind. That set up to end the game was exceptional. "I don't have time for all these tragic lessons." That certainly sounds like something you'd hear in a good story that's ramping up.

you didnt make a misplay not using sprite becuse you can bolt for the kill if they play the last card around 30:00.

I think pauper is a format where you can get a really deep appreciation for the game. The matches aren’t unpowered like draft, but they are also not coin flips like modern legacy or vintage can be.

I’ll say, that if the draft matches you play feel unpowered you may need to work on the way that you play limited. I love pauper because it’s so reminiscent of strong limited strategies.

Listening to LSV talk about sequencing is like taking a master class in MTG. Plus I love just about any delver deck(except ones that have green in them....because those aren't real delver decks :)

Just one quick question, why one deprive instead of the fourth counterspell. The only reason I see is for the mystic sanctuary.

In the last turn vs burn you were concerned about a "misplay" where you thought you should've led on spellstutter leaving up hydro blast. But I would argue that the correct play was in fact to hydro blast first, and then if they had any other spell to respond to it with a lethal lightning bolt. That would be the best way to guarantee a win in that spot given they only had one card left right?

I remember when you could choose to activate Pestilence in one large chunk of damage and then prevent it all with a single activation of Circle of Protection: Black. Played that deck in a tournament once with pump nights and Cemetery Gates. It was... not very good.

You can still do it in Pauper with Prismatic Circle. There was a fringe Pauper deck built around it - Enchanted Control/Enchantment Control.

at 29:30 u say hydroblasting the bolt was wrong, but they had 1 card left in hand, whatever burn card that may be, u can bolt them in response anyway, so it didnt matter u cast hydroblast instead of spellstutter

at 29:31 when complaining you screwed up, you didn't really. even if op's last card was fireblast and you cant counter it, you just bolt them in response. proving as always, the great lsv can never mess up even when he thinks he did :P

Edit: Sorry I didn't notice OP's health. Thanks bumpasaurus420. No he did. He had 2 islands and a mountain up, spellstutter in this instance (only 1 faerie) can only counter a 1 mana spell, so he should use that on the bolt op cast, and he'd have a single island up with hydro in hand which could counter anything op has to cast. So given he used the hydro on bolt, if op had fireblast he would've lost because faerie wont counter it; if his health was below 4 even a skewer or rift bolt can get him at this point, but in this instance only a fireblast would.

Mox Liquid the opponent was at 3 tho...he could just bolt him and win if his last card was fireblast tho. So if he played the sprite first, he would have only an island up for the blast, but having a red available for the bolt is just as good

Mox Liquid an instant card for one red mana that says “I win” is just as good or better than a one blue mana counter anything spell. So either order he couldn’t lose against one remaining red card. He either has blast up to counter it, or bolt up to win in response

Love to see Pauper content but that deck I¨m so tired of seeing in Pauper and Legacy (variants). Looking forward to some more Pauper videos in the future. The thing with pauper is that there are so many viable decks, no need to play the same old same old every time. My recent favourite is Rakdos Midrange =)

I get it, MTGA doesn't have the "economy" that MTGO has. MTGO is soooooooooooooo boring, though, as a spectator.

It’s so much better on mtgo in my opinion, I would much rather see the game play clearly than cheesy animations. Arena is way harder to see the cards in hand, and various zones, stack, etc. if u like animation and graphics, just play a different game. I personally can’t even watch arena

lol I don't think you get it because this deck and format can't be played anywhere else so they couldn't have done it on MTGA even if they wanted. It's funny, you say it's boring to watch but I find MTGA content nearly unwatchable. Especially drafts. I expected it to be fine and inoffensive given that I was fine with MTGO and am also comfortable with the look of HS, but I can not watch an MTGA stream for more than 5 minutes without wanting to do anything else.

@@shawndiaz7528 I agree. One is definitely not strictly better than the other. It's all about player experience. I've gotten used to MTGA, but was really confused (and annoyed) in the beginning. And there's still some things that is a pain to deal with in MTGA. Like manually tapping lands, no auto pass to permanent triggers and no way to have multiple zones open at the same time. MTGO is just more clean in a lot of ways. But sadly I've come to a point where the dopamine fixes that MTGA have given me , have rendered some things to be desired from MTGO.
