Blimey Neil, I'm gobsmacked how fab Doug looks. He looks like a brand new van!!!! 😲😲😲 You and Emma have done an awesome job of renovating outside!!!! You've basically done what I'm in the process of doing with Viv-i-van so I'm watching your progress with keen interest. Thankfully I ripped out all the dodgy electrics the dodgy converter put in so my electrics are minimal and simple. I do love your "how to do" vids though and learned a lot following the channel- as well as being a member of our Urban vanlife KZbin channel. Good to see it back BTW 🤟. now all we need is the live episodes coming back on the channel as they were brill. Much respect as always to you, Em and of course the puppers. - Kenny

Our first MoHo an Elddis Auto Cirrus, had those strange angled electrical sockets. They were used to plug in 12 volt things, I think we only had three of them. One for the TV, one at the front on the dashboard for a fan and one more that I can’t remember ever using or where it was. You can still buy them, but they are a bit basic. Vans looking smart now, unbelievable improvement on what it was like.

Combined with solar and the engine it should be quite easy to be independent of mains electricity. My next van will be totally self sufficient.

If I run feed from solar panel into a dc 2 pole switch... Could it be possible to still connect into mmpt for leisure battery charging, then run a cable with Xt60 adaptor to charge a power station, made me think this vlog 👍Cheers
@UrbanVanlife

Not sure to be honest but in theory yes as you could switch between solar and dc . Now you have me thinking now

TBH that looks like a nightmare, i'd probably pull the lot out and refit everything with known wires, connectors and fuses - 12v fires are no joke. (i know you know what you are doing, but i just couldn't trust someone else before me's work - especially after seeing the shaver connection)
@UrbanVanlife
@UrbanVanlife Жыл бұрын
Problem is that’s not some thing most people can or could do . The main wireing is ok but granted the mad shaver phone socket was weird af . Least there is one thing the extra wireing that’s been added at least they used household 3 core so it’s fine for what it’s doing

Hi, Love what you did with the old van bringing it back to life,very interesting video 👍🏻.I ve a quick question ,Can I get away with just using a ‘Power station ‘ like yours in my van ; instead of a leisure batterie? 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Oh interesting ...so if I only had a Power station ( like yours) in a van ; could it be charged from the main vehicle battery DC-DC with a inverter in between too protect both battery /power station from draining each another?? 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
